4 gigs of ram is sickness :-) Especially for guys like us, and the OSes we run. my 2gb PI4B is fantastic! There are folks out there that would snicker at the thought of running a computer with ONLY 4gb of ram. some of these types in facbook groups lol.... Arm chair know-it-all's "16gb / 32gb ram is ...

I have never really had to deal with 30hz refresh rates before... even when i was using a .28dp 1024x768 ibm screen it was still at 60hz. heck my 1984 Macintosh 128k has a 60hz refresh rate.... well i think it does... http://maccaps.com/MacCaps/DIY_Information_files/Macintosh_Manual_1984.pdf Also, I...

I want 4k@60hz, not FPS........ so my mouse cursor does not track all sluggish and weird. that is the only reason. 1080p@30 hz has the same mouse tracking issue. 1080p@60 hz mouse tracks great. That is my story, and im sticking to it... ## btw, Grumble, Grumble, Get off my lawn! --- Kids these days...

windows and mac GUI have it down. Linux GUI's over all is kind of not fantastic, --- GUI offered is fantastic considering its free. What needs to happen is GUI needs to be 100% rendered using the 3D hardware, as soon as that happens i think we will be golden on the Linux side. my PI4B is running 4k@...

my statement is charger or psu same thing --- when it comes to USB power supplies. They all have to maintain 5v whether or not its charging or supplying. There could be possibly a duty cycle thing.... most cellphones are fully charged with in 1 or 2 hours. Continuous duty might run into thermal issu...

it looks to me like some how you ended up with a test or development unit .... something like that...
for me this would not be an issue... i would have fired up my s-993a, desoldered anything that needed it... resoldred.... and installed a new header, i have a whole bag.

Honestly though does the foundation consider this an issue or a flaw?

They are not going to do a recall or anything like that.

I already know I can do it with the 3b+. I own 3, bought 4. One is inside the official touch screen. i just got that one upgraded to buster today. I am going to make a bold statement in regards to the PI4B 1gig,2,4 models. I think there is more going on then just a ram chip swap... I originally boug...

I agree all of the solutions that integrate a Pi computer are not great or too costly to make sense. The official Screen for 60 dollars. I guess that is something. Resolution is rather low... though the touch screen aspect does work pretty great!. and the power consumption is very reasonable. I thin...

Re: Is starting with a 3B+ a bad idea now that the 4b is out?

I would suggest not getting the PI4B one gig. The 3B+ should only be $25. They are great i have 3. Microcenter gets deliveries Tuesday's and Thursdays. Tomorrow they will at-least have PI4B 2gig boards ($45) its worth the 10 bucks. - get the 9 dollar Official Raspi 3a USBC charger. - behind the coun...
