The locking would be triggered on six months of inactivity. A long running thread would be left untouched. It's got to be based on last posting date not when the thread was created.
This has my vote as well...
How would a " long running thread would be left untouched" be specified?

If the Pi is working and no low voltage indication it must be about the correct volts.
@gordon77
The OP wrote "I have a Raspberry model B rev.1. the very first batch of raspberrys made". No low voltage detection on those.
OK. I forgot that.

Re: 5V pins output 3.3V and 3.3V outputs 2.5V

I would suspect the meter, leads or probes. Try measuring a new battery or other known good voltage.

Does the meter have a resistance measurement to check out the meter leads ?

If the Pi is working and no low voltage indication it must be about the correct volts.

As before with more detail... I don't believe you need to boot Thonny, just your python3 script. Try using /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart in a terminal... sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart e. g. To run a python script add at the end of the file... @ /usr/bin/python3 /home/pi/Proje...

Re: Best Software for analog gauges?

I haven't been involved in a project like this but l think you need to explain a bit more. You say you are using the Arduino to read the gauges, presumably in analog. So do you need code for the Arduino? I would assume you are then outputting digital data from arduino to the Pi? If so are you lookin...

Hi Gordon, The 19" monitor is on "0" and only for display of the speed (for ex: 55 1" or 4" size) rest the boot and program run debug is on the embedded 5" display Just for debug i like to display the timer counter, speed, sw2 value display on the HDMI monitor before we write to SD card file. Thank...

Re: 100 msec timer interrupt, input switch interrupt , display 2 numbers on a hdmi screen

1. Assume the 5" is driven by gpio ? which display, which software ?
2. is the 19" in HDMI 0 or 1 ?
3. Either run from your python editor or 'python3 filename.py' from terminal

I don't know the answer to driving the 2 screens yet.

Re: Current State of Raspberry Pi 4 Software and Hardware Support

What's the problem with EDID? Back in the days of the original Pi it would not work with one of my monitors. After a quick question here I had read the EDID of the monitor manually with some user space program and entered required details from that into config.txt or wherever. Then my monitor worke...

Re: Current State of Raspberry Pi 4 Software and Hardware Support

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B+ I have a feeling that an enhanced model of the Pi 4 could come out soon, due to previous problems with the temperature of Pi 4's CPU. Maybe it won't be called B+ (see: Raspberry Pi Zero versions), but you get the point. Do you think this is a silly thought, or might I be int...

Re: Help me please,my due date is next week.....

Maybe, but l simply used the OPs code and timing. They can change it as required from advice such as yours.

Maybe?

Code: Select all

print ("DRY SOIL")
motor_on(m_channel)
time.sleep(10)
motor_off(m_channel)
time.sleep(30)
I expect times will depend on pump size, flow rate etc.
