Re: MQTT-SN over Bluetooth

Technically, TCP/IP is possible over Bluetooth using BNEP (Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol.) I haven't played with it in years and years, but I assume you could use the Network Access Profile (NAP) to create a small Personal Area Network (PAN), and run MQTT over that. Again, I can't help, ...

The only thing I have ever seen on MQTT-SN is at http://www.steves-internet-guide.com/mqtt-sn/

Not sure if the Python code is of any use or not...
I think RSMB is designed to support UDP as well but I will double check. Thanks

MQTT-SN over Bluetooth

So far I have been running some experiments with MQTT over WiFi using 3 Raspberry Pi's: MQTT publisher --> WiFi link --> MQTT Broker (mosquitto) --> Ethernet link --> MQTT subscriber I have been using mosquitto as the MQTT broker and the clients (publisher and subscriber) that come with it. Everythi...

Re: Problem forcing a fixed WiFi data rate with hostapd.conf

I found the answer to my own question so I'll post it here in case this is helpful to anyone. https://superuser.com/questions/870779/iwlist-wlan0-bitrate-says-unknown-bit-rate-information 'iwlist'/'iwconfig' and similar tools can display bit-rate of an interface only when it is connected. When the i...

Re: Problem forcing a fixed WiFi data rate with hostapd.conf

Just an additional comment: If I use a WiFi scanner program in an external laptop it shows that the maximum bitrate of the network is correct, the one I expect. Moreover, I have noticed that if I run some traffic through the WiFi interface, then the bitrate returned by iwconfig wla0 is the correct o...

Problem forcing a fixed WiFi data rate with hostapd.conf

I have configured one laptop as a WiFi access point with hostapd in Raspbian Stretch (desktop version) and I have a number of RBPi's that connect to it, all runing Stretch as well. I am trying to run some experiments for different fixed bitrates in 802.11b and 802.11g. For the experiments in 802.11b...

Re: Configure the Pi as wireless access point using both wireless/wired interfaces

Follow the 1st part of the document (routed setup); Bridging would put all the interfaces under the same bridge interface, you would have one single network, which is not what you want. You can skip the DNSmasq install part if you don't need DHCP or DNS services for your wifi network. (But why? If ...

Re: Configure the Pi as wireless access point using both wireless/wired interfaces

Welcome to the Raspberry Pi forums. Raspberry Pi Foundation documentation here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/access-point.md Thanks for quick response! I tried this guide yesterday but I was unable to get it to work. Just two quick questions: - Because I plan to ...

Configure the Pi as wireless access point using both wireless/wired interfaces

Hello everyone, let's see if anyone could help me with this. I am using Raspbian Stretch (oficial image from June 2018) and I need to configure a RBPi 3B+ as follows: - It needs to use both wired (eth0) and wireless (wlan0) interfaces simultaneously. - Both interfaces need a static IP address, let's...
