Mac DVB-T stick Media-Tech MT4170

I partially tested this DVB-T tuner on my Raspberry Pi with Raspbian. It should be connected through powered USB hub and it looks this tuner could work. But not out-of-box, you will need add into file /etc/modules item "smsdvb" and load into directory /lib/firmware these to files: "dvb_nova_12mhz_b0...

Re: What are people doing with RISC OS on the Pi?

I dreamt about having a RISC PC and my dream has come maybe partially true. Still I should find out how nice this system with very low demands could be. Really, this system is really different from any Unix like system (Linux, Mac OS X, BSD...) or Microsoft systems (Windows). RISC OS still needs som...

Still I should report problems with keyboard response in case of connection through USB hub or KVM switch.

Re: RISC OS; Pros and Cons

I report, I found out the keyboard stuttering issue also on my RasPi if keyboard is connected through KVM switch. KVM switch contains USB hub. If I connected keyboard directly to Pi, no stuttering observed. I think this issue with USB hubs should be really fix.

Re: GLQuake-ES now available

I made a test on my RasPi Model B 256 MB in Raspbian and I occured something very interesting. If I start the game without -nomtex, sound is good but the game unplayable. If I start the game with -nomtex, game is playable but sound is full of cracks. In console I found this error message: ALSA lib p...

What I think about? Impatient user would bridge the pressure switch because he would see in this something what brings only problems. Who really needs hot-swap feature on RasPi system disk?

Wanted: Hardware guide for RISC OS

We know elinux.org has very comprehensive hardware guide but it is more for Linux distros. But RISC OS is a non-Unix/Linux system and there could be hardware compatibility different.
Please let us build up some hardware guide.

Re: KVM for sharing keyboard & mouse

My idea is to use a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse switch ) to save space on my desk. I'm running a windows 7 Pc and a raspberry PI with Riscos. Actually I'm manually switching the monitor input ( HDMI-->raspberry pi and DVI--> PC) and I connect and disconnect the USB cable of my wireless logitech keybo...

Guide for finding convenient peripherals

If I look at this forum I see many users are lost in wide offer of peripherals. There exists a help. Site elinux.org contains list of working and problematic peripherals: http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals.
SD cards have its own site: http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards.

Re: HDMI monitors says NO SIGNAL

I presume, you have installed your selected OS on SD card. Boot sector of the SD card is normally accessible from Windows, so you can edit file config.txt. What you maybe need? Add into config.txt this line: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 I experienced similar problem on one older LCD TV and this procedure he...

I seriously doubt you can establish a reliable link between brand name and usability on the Pi. I had got an idea to work out SD card compatibility list because it looks RISC OS is more squeamish for SDs than other systems. Immediately I write my experience here. 1. Kingston SDHC HD Video 4 GB Class 4 2. Kingston SDHC HD Video 8 GB Class 4 In both cases boot with error message: " Machine Start...
