You don't always have to persist data to make use of it.

raspbian.org SSL certificate expired

Looks like the certificate for (archive.)raspbian.org has expired.

Is anyone else seeing this and/or know who can fix it?

Re: A fast picture viewer for the Pi and XBMC?

In case it helps anyone else out, I've got much better photo viewing performance out of my Pi with XBMC by increasing the size of the swap file. $ sudo echo "CONF_SWAPSIZE=1024" > /etc/dphys-swapfile $ sudo service dphys-swapfile stop $ sudo service dphys-swapfile start It doesn't seem to actually u...

Re: Real-time streaming mic audio, ffmpeg ssh and persistent

The ffmpeg part i found resembles this: ffmpeg -f oss -i /dev/dsp -acodec libmp3lame -ab 32k -ac 1 -re -f rtp rtp://234.5.5.5:1234 but im still not sure how the RTP works exactly. The commands works, but dont know how to connect and from where. The 234.x.x.x is a multicast IP address - feel free to...

Re: XBMC crashing

For anyone in the future, dmesg reported it was running out of memory and being killed off. Moving ~/.xbmc aside has left it in a working state again.

XBMC crashing

XBMC's been working fine. I don't think it's been upgraded recently. Earlier today I SSH'd in to the Pi and it quickly locked up, power cable was taken out and pushed back in. Now XBMC crashes every five minutes or so and locks up if you try and play a video. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. /home/xbmc...

I've had this working on a 256MB system for ages. 512MB for a week and it's chewed itself up as per the OP.

Terminal visible outside XBMC video letterbox

My XBMC menus fill my 16:9 screen, but some films display in a letterbox. In the black regions above and below the video I can see the terminal output behind. XBMC is started via the init.d service script that's floating around the forums so I don't think the 'clear' hack works - or at least I can f...
