Re: Creating autism-friendly Code Clubs

We have children in our code club with different learning challenges who get on really well with coding and enjoy it. The school never give me any information about a child's individual needs or offer guidance with how to manage them. I assumed this was due to child confidentiality so it's interesti...

Re: What is your top tip for running a Code Club?

Yes I agree with the post above. At first I tried to keep everyone on the same projects at once and run the session like a teacher. This worked with a smaller group but then people left and new members joined so were all at different levels. What we do now is hand out the projects and sign them off ...

Re: Promoting your Code Club

I didn't advertise at first as I started our club with a small group just to make sure the computers were up to the jobs etc.. I didn't realise at first that they have the old version of scratch installed for example, and so we ended up using scratch through the browser. Now we now more what we are ...

Re: Trinket logins - any advice?

Re: Trinket logins - any advice?

Hi everyone Thanks very much for all your advice! I'll try out one of the methods (registering using made up emails using school domain or using my own email to create various logins). As a side issue I didn't get emailed of any replies to my question (checked my junk mail etc) and I'd like to subsc...

Trinket logins - any advice?

Hi I've had some kids in my codeclub for a few years and they've progressed a long way with scratch. They are pretty advanced now (which is great!) Although the later codeclub projects are still challenging for them I think that because they are still only 10 they can find them a bit too long to kee...

Re: Welcome to the new Code Club forum!

Hello! I've been running a code club for 3 years in Surrey. This school year we've gone up to 22 members which is fantastic but also more of a challenge  This week's code club went perfectly though - especially the new members who have suddenly "got it" and are so excited about the projects t...
