sudo apt purge xserver* lightdm* raspberrypi-ui-mods

Should go a long way to getting most of the desktop removed.
Awesome, thanks!

Re: Remove the desktop enviroment

If storage space is not the problem, you can configure the RPi (using raspi-config ) to not start up the graphical desktop environment. That saves some memory, CPU time, power consumption etc... That's how I have my RPi setup, I connect to it via ssh (also configurable in raspi-config ). I've been ...

Remove the desktop enviroment

Running Raspian 9 Stretch

I have the desktop environment installed, and I've realized that I don't need it, as I'm using it as a server. How can I uninstall the environment without needing to erase and re-setup everything?

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

The mp4 recordings (Just the recordings) are blurry. The images are not. I haven't got a blur image effect enabled and the camera is in focus. Interesting, I haven't seen anything like that. What are your video and still image resolutions set to? Can you post the contents of your uconfig file? I've...

The mp4 recordings (Just the recordings) are blurry. The images are not.

I haven't got a blur image effect enabled and the camera is in focus.

Any ideas?

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hey all, How do I change the path where the images are saved. I understood the line from the Wiki: There are separate path settings for video, images and time lapse in the /etc/raspimjpeg config file. but not If you change the 'root' from the media folder in the web install then you also have to cha...

Re: Run code on the top of the hour

There are several modules floating around called " pycron " but I haven't tried them nor have an oversight to say how relevant they would be. One is in the repository: $ lsb_release -rd Description: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9.4 (stretch) Release: 9.4 $ pip search pycron pycron (1.0.0) - Simple cron-like ...

Re: Run code on the top of the hour

If I can avoid cron, that'd be good, The less to do (ie, just one script to run) the better. Before I give in, is there any alternatives?
I'd be good if I can run this on Windows too.

Run code on the top of the hour

Hello,
I'd like to run a bit of code on the top of the hour exactly,

pseudocode:

Code: Select all

 IF TIME = "*:00"
 THEN [whatevercode]
I've tried schedule, but doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

5 inch Touchscreen case with stand?

Hi all,
Is there a case I can get for a 5 inch RPi touchscreen (GPIO) that stands at an angle (45deg ish)
I've looked everywhere and I can't find one that works with GPIO screens. Any Ideas?

Thanks a lot!
