Anyone tried ZFS on Pi 4 or planning to do so?

As in the title, has anyone tried or is close to trying ZFS on a Pi 4? I know it's resource hungry but at least in my case I want to have a go once my pi 4 4GB arrives and with Ubuntu looking to offer it even as a root file system option ZFS does look to be taking a significant step forward in its r...

Re: Pi4 vs nVidia Shield TV performance?

It was probably deleted because we generally don't like it when people use our forum to advertise competing products here. realising its not a competing product at all I relented, and moved it to off-topic. I see. Thanks for the explanation, and for relenting. "Stay out if it is *no interest to you...

Re: Pi4 vs nVidia Shield TV performance?

Bomblord - Thanks. Not quite as good on CPU as I’d hoped but probably still worth taking out for a spin once I can get hold of one. I also came up short when trying to search for comparable benchmarks. Radiogalva - I have my Pi3B+ running RAID. I bought a dual drive USB enclosure & set it to JBOD so...

Pi4 vs nVidia Shield TV performance?

My last post seems to have disappeared and I got no message from mods to say what rules I might have breached so I'm re-posting it. For safety I removed what I hoped was a useful link to a Wikipedia article (maybe I'm too much of a newbie to be allowed to post links) and removed a reference to a pie...

Re: Accessing external hard drive

Hi RaTTus, Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty confident this particular problem is behind me now and I've got to the next step now I think albeit with another potential issue (new issue or hopefully non-issue described in my post here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=224445). T...

Possible issues with mdadm RAID creation

Hi All, I'm pretty new at this but after overcoming a problem trying to get my Raspbian Stretch Lite system to see my dual 2TB JBOD enclosure formatted in Windows as NTFS I might have introduced a new problem (details of my previous problem here but I don't think really relevant: https://www.raspber...

Re: Accessing external hard drive

Many thanks for the reply Anne. I think it might have been searching for the backup copy of the GPT by going off searching down the disk which on a 2TB drive mounted on a Pi feels a lot like going into an infinite loop if it was going to search the whole drive. Anyway, I killed it with a reboot and ...

Accessing external hard drive

Sorry folks but I'm completely at sea here. I'm trying to access an external USB drive enclosure that has 2 x 2TB hard drives in it set for JBOD. My windows PC sees it fine, as 2 separate drives, and both drives are formatted as single big NTFS partitions. When I plug it into my Pi running latest Ra...

Re: Best PVR Software?

I have an RPi running TVHeadEnd server under Raspian as a headless media server and OTA DVR with a Silicon Dust HDHomeRun tuner. This is my "back end" server setup. At the TV I have a "front end" RPi running LibreElec. I have the TVHeadEnd front end client program running in the TV PVR section of t...
