Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I just installed XBian and I think that it's great (1080p vids mkv >7gb over home network). If anybody is interested in seeing it in action and getting an overview I've uploaded a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2-eUrGbl0I nice video :) might be an idea to rename your media files before...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Looks good, I'll give it a test tonight :) One thing I should point out - I was planning on using my old MCE remote to control XBMC on the pi (on whatever distribution I ended up with), but haven't even plugged it in. I've found the official XBMC remote app (for android and ios) works perfectly with...

Re: What XMBC dist to I want?

I'd agree with the first reply (http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=12455). That's what I've been using and had no problems. I've tried the latest raspbmc and for my usage it's pretty much the same as the one above (performance wise). I've got xbian 0.4.2 but haven't actually trie...

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

I'm pretty sure .ts files are mpeg2 which is something the pi can't play back (currently). You may hear sound from it, but I'd be surprised if you can get video. I tested openelec and xbian 0.2 last night, but so far this .deb has been the most stable build I've used (menu speed, playback quality et...

Re: So... which XBMC?

Quick update - I tried Openelec (31st July build), xbian 0.2, and tomaz's deb version last night. The only one I had no issues at all with was tomaz's deb which played back everything I tested without any problems (AVI with dolby, MP4 with AAC, 720p x264 with 5.1 dts, 1080p x264 with 5.1 dts). The m...

Re: So... which XBMC?

Yeah, it will be subjective - I haven't spent enough time looking at the differences (things like Airplay etc..) to really make a decision. I've been using raspbian with tomaz's deb (from here http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=12455). I've got openelec and xbian on SD cards (and...

So... which XBMC?

As there are a few different options available for people wanting to run XBMC on their pi, I'm interested in seeing which one is considered the best (because I'm too lazy to do in depth testing of all the available builds). If anyone's running something different than the options in the poll, post h...

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

Firstly, thanks for this - you've done a great job! As a linux user I'm especially appreciative of the detail in your first post :) I've been tempted to compile xbmc myself for a few weeks now (but I'm lazy). I've also been patiently waiting for raspbmc rc4 to be released (the first one with hardfp)...
