Raspbmc does not boot after update

After running Raspbian for quite a while, today I installed Raspbmc. Everything worked fine till I added wifi. The automatic update started as soon as wifi was connected. After completion of the update, I could see update operation on the terminal. The operation halted as it occurred a file not foun...

Re: Seal Broken - What should I do?

I just had an interesting thought. I wonder if RS staff were or are breaking the seals on the pink cases to see whether boards were/are REv 1 or Rev2 and 512MB. To me, that might explain a lot if they had intermixed their stock and then had to scurry to make sure they got rid of all the older versi...

Re: Seal Broken - What should I do?

I have the same experience. I got on Friday 19th the pink package from RS.... The Raspi is working. The PCB is the first version. Are RS really sending the PCB in revision 1.0 in this time ? @cmarty: When was your Pi shipped? And did it come direct from RS in the UK or another distributor? If you r...

Re: Seal Broken - What should I do?

I doubt it would void your warranty but anything is possible I would contact them and tell them you want a new case. If the Pi is undamaged and functional tell them to send you a new case. This way you can keep the pi otherwise not really sure how they work it. That's terrible it's broken I kind of...

Re: Seal Broken - What should I do?

Is this the case? http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2012/10/12/nice-new-pink-packaging-box-from-rs-piday-raspberrypi-raspberry_pi/ I don't know what they mean by invalid? Yes, this is the pink case I was talking about. It has two seals on two sides which say "Invalid If Broken". My Rpi was delivered wit...

Re: My Pi arrived today but broken...

Hello, :-) I’ve been waiting for my PI for weeks!! I finally received it today in nice RS printed packaging. I opened the package up and made sure everything was there. Which it was.. I then opened the little case that the Pi board came in. First thing I noticed was a little capacitor (not sure if ...

Seal Broken - What should I do?

I had ordered my Raspberry Pi from RS and received it last Thursday. I was busy in studies, so opened the package today. What I found was, there was a pink case inside with raspberry pi inside it. The case has two seals, quoting 'Invalid if Broken'. However, both the seals are already broken. :o :( ...

Re: Please give suggestion for training

Oracle VM doesn't emulate processor architechture where Qemu does. That way, qemu will be nice to run Raspbian on virtual ARM. I am an 'absolute beginer' to Linux. Should I start to learn Linux using Raspbian over Qemu or first try Debian / Ubuntu over my PC? What do you think? :?: Please give your ...

Please give suggestion for training

Hi All! :D I am an absolute beginner to Linux. (P.S. I have no idea how Linux works) I am yet to receive my RaspberryPi. In the mean time, I wish to learn more about the Linux distribution I'll be using on raspberrypi. Can I install it on my PC (with x86 processor)? If yes, please tell...
