Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

In the beginning of this topic there was the option (being looked into, iirc) to solder your own fix once the problem/solution had been found. Is that still a possibility now the solution has been found? On page 9 i posted a video how we fixed the hat. My hat runs since then fine. But a "official" ...

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

That would be nice. If it can't I will contact the reseller anyway.
Had hold off for now because shipping costs :)

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Not everyone who got one finds it useless. On a headless, no peripherals system, it's still just peachy. In my case I run it using LibreELEC without any USB devices. Started getting more and more yellow lightning bolt icons and at some point it just crashed. Using the power adapter atm and no issue...

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Hello, is there a way to "repair" the PoE-HATs? A way how to modify them, so thay would not must be returned? Maybe larger capacitors on the HAT, which will stabilize the voltage? If the Raspberry engineers would support instructions how to do this, many owners would repair their PoE HATs by themse...

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

I would expect something like "Revision B" printed on the PCB.
But let's not jump to conclusion before anything official is posted.

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

That bulky thing on top is the reason I didn't buy yours ;-)
The Raspberry Pi HAT still fits inside a normal case, and doesn't have the ugly passthrough cable.

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Hand mods sound good to me, in my use case.

Thanks for the update.

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Came looking since I noticed the lightning icon when running LibreELEC. It shows even when just doing nothing in the menu, without anything playing. No USB devices connected at all, since I use the remote control of my TV. So just the Ethernet and HDMI cable. Reading through the topic it looks like ...

Re: Case for use with Raspberry Pi POE HAT

Then I might as well not put it in a case at all.
This can't be the answer.

Re: Case for use with Raspberry Pi POE HAT

Feels weird having a fan in a closed case, with the fan practically squeezed to the top.

I also see I forgot about the ATMEL chip for the fan, so the GPIO isn't used.

Case for use with Raspberry Pi POE HAT

I bought the new POE HAT for one of my RPi3B+'s, and it works great. The transformer buzzes when it's powered off, but since it's my LibreELEC machine it will run 24/7 anyway. But, the point of my post is finding a fitting case. Not too many cases have extra height, and there are some that come with...
