Re: Boot order: change so USB is tried first

With regards to auto mounting the SD card, have a look at this... http://www.embeddedpi.com/documentation/sd-card-interface/mypi-industrial-raspberry-pi-configuring-sd-card Since this is all only for a rescue scenario, I think just having the script on the USB mount the SD card is simpler. Thanks f...

Re: Boot order: change so USB is tried first

Thanks! That's very creative. Then I'd need to remember to fix bootcode.bin before the reboot. I'd prefer a neater option if anyone is aware of one. Well the USB stick you use to recover the situation could just have a startup script that renames the bootcode.bin file on the SD card back to it's or...

Boot order: change so USB is tried first

I have a Pi 3B + running headless inside a case which leaves only the power, Ethernet, and 2 USB ports accessible. When a mistake in dhcpcd.conf cut off ssh access, I had to disassemble to case to remove the SD card to correct. What I'd like to do is set it up so a similar situation in the future co...

Re: Ubuntu 18 Server on Raspberry Pi 3B+

@z3n Thank you very much! Following your detailed instructions I have successfully installed Ubuntu 18 Server on a Pi 3B+. I have an issue which I don't think is normal. I can not simultaneously ssh in to the Pi with the LAN and WLAN. Which ever is loaded first grabs the ssh and in order to use the ...

Re: VNC suddenly not working.

I saw that thread and it does seem similar, though they are discussing Jessie and I'm running Stretch, not that I'm certain that makes a difference. Also, I'm running headless, they are not. I tried sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-legacy from the last post in that thread and it did not work, so I ...

Re: VNC suddenly not working.

Is your Pi set to boot to desktop? This is normally required for VNC to work, although you can get around this by enabling experimental direct capture mode, see here for how to do this from the command line: https://support.realvnc.com/knowledgebase/article/view/541/0/how-do-i-enable-the-experiment...

VNC suddenly not working.

This is my first post and let me begin by thanking the creators of Pi for their awesome product and to all the members of the community for creating the support environment. I am a proud new owner of a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ running the latest version of Raspbian Stretch. I'm set it up and am running it ...
