Re: Vintage radio tuner

You would need an analog to digital converter to use potentiometers. You could access FM stations with a RTL-SDR, and optical audio with a gutted external DVD drive with a pop open top. Not sure about audio cassette. Perhaps you could gut an old portable cassette player and connect audio output to I...

Re: GNOME DE on Rpi 4 -- Can't do it

Gnome now uses wayland by default, and I'm sure there are still issues going from x86 to arm. The Debian team just squeaked by getting it into 10. You might be better off trying to get it up and running on Gentoo.

Does this also extract the image from its compressed zip and warn you if you've specified the wrong drive? (Etcher actually chooses for you, so that's unlikely)
Surely worth 79.75MB more disk space.

Re: Increase /boot Partiton?

You can resize the ext4 partition and create a second FAT partition on the SD card. If you trust these people, you can add a new user on your Pi and enable SSHD. FTP would be the better option, but you'll run into NAT issues if you're connected to a router. You can use Filezilla to log in remotely e...

Click on the little person icon with your name at the top right corner.
Select board preferences then edit notification options.
Be sure email is checked.
If it is checked, look in your email spam folder. It might be getting flagged.

cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --datafile GAME.BIN --device /dev/cdrom --driver generic-mmc-raw GAME.TOC I guess I should mention the reason you do it this way is because PS1 games aren't ISOs. Early PS2 games on CDROM can be ripped this way to. If you want PS2 DVDs you would do dd if=/dev/sr0 of=~/image...

You're only supposed to use hardware a year or two then throw it away. i686 is on the support chopping block and it wont be long until 32-bit ARM is too.

when buying a product/part its best to search/consult/read & understand the documentations (manuals, setup guide, etc) before using... from the product page: Vin - To power the board, give it the same power as the logic level of your microcontroller - e.g. for a 5V micro like Arduino, use 5V for RP...

Re: 5v on GPIO to power I2C board

Yes, as long as they don't take too much power. Generally it is also safe to power the Pi through those pins, but you have to take in to account that there is no fuse if you do it that way (Pi 0 and 4 don't have fuses anyway). The official PoE HAT powers the Pi 3B+ and 4B through those pins. With i...

5v on GPIO to power I2C board

It is safe to use the 5v GPIO pins for powering other devices such as an I2C board, correct? The only issue is when trying to power the Raspberry Pi directly through these pins? I do not want a fried Pi.

my last edit disappeared. I asked if these always hit the same server since 5 of the 6 did on on the 3rd time and on the 4th time, the 6th updated. If they actually updated, it was probably a network or Raspbian server issue. You could ping google to make sure nothing is wrong on your end. There's ...

sakaki, "This will hopefully be addressed upstream shortly" sounds a bit vague; I'm not being funny, but any ideas why Raspbian has 4 GB of RAM but everything else only has 1 GB at the current time? Sounds like a conspiracy theory, so who can provide the most explicit answer? :P Incidentally, how c...

There's your problem. Even with no case and a tiny heat sink, I've seen mine get up to 75C under heavy load. If you had yours in there, it was probably throttling nonstop.
