Re: Using a Pi to Log Data in a Magnum Energy System

I must apologize. I thought I had replied to you but can find no record of my reply. I will gladly help with your project. I have recently trimmed down the code to make it simpler to use. I just noticed private messages has been turned off so this will out in the open. What do you want to log or ac...

Re: STICKY: PMs being turned off from June 13

edit: @droleary, can you link to the non-sticky thread about this that you mentioned? Couldn't find it. Keep Private Messaging function, please help and post The solution to people who want to be contacted directly remains fairly easy: set up one of the external links that is supported for accounts...

I have reported your post with the title "Can lost private messages be retrieved?".

That will alert a moderator who may know if your lost messages can be retrieved or not.
Thanks!

Re: STICKY: PMs being turned off from June 13

Interestingly, I never received this announcement in email. I was going crazy trying to understand where the PM's went. Anyways, this is understandable. So, if two users who post on this forum want to communicate with each other directly, what do they do? Do they post a new topic and tag the user wi...

Re: Private messsages on forum dissappeared

Thanks for pointing me to that. I did not receive that email. I had no time to "archive" any messages though. It's all gone now.

Private messsages on forum dissappeared

About two weeks ago the link to go to my private messages on this forum has disappeared. I can't find it anywhere. I also don't have the option to directly message users who I have directly messaged in the past. I contacted RPi foundation over a week ago but no response. I have a bugging feeling tha...

Re: Parallel or multi-tasking functionality

@rpdom, wow, that is very... varied and versatile! Thanks for the details! Mind if I tap you for advice in the future as I get more familiar with Pi and want to try some similar things?

Re: Parallel or multi-tasking functionality

Thanks for all the responses, guys.
I'm thinking to start with a Pi that can be a print server and a harddrive server and see where to go from there.

@rpdom, can you give a bit more details of exactly what are you running on a single Pi?

Re: Using a Pi to Log Data in a Magnum Energy System

@CharlesGodwin, that is some impressive work done there and thank you for sharing the details! I essentially joined this forum to ask you (or anyone else on here who knows/is willing to help) this question. I have a rural off-grid situation (solar panels/diesel generator with magnum inverter and bat...

Automated ventilation or AC

Hello all, Can anyone point me to some good instructions or tutorials (or even ready-made Pi products developed by someone) for turning on an air conditioning unit or fan based on room temperature using a temperature sensor? Alternatively, an ability to remotely turn on/off the AC or fan manually (c...

Parallel or multi-tasking functionality

Hello all, Apologies if this has been asked before. I searched online but was not able to find a full answer to this. My location is off-grid in a rural area and I have several different projects in mind that I thought the raspberry pi would be suitable for because of its flexibility and low power c...
