Having read on I understand the slow sped might be a consequence of not running the underlying Groovy/Java using a JIT compiler. I don't have my RPi to hand, so if anyone else can test that and (hopefully) report faster performance when using the just in time options (java -cocoa in the Open JDK?) i...
