Shutting down the wlan0 (Archer T1U) crashes system?

Okay, let me preface by saying I am not a complete fool and shutting down the active interface. I am actually connected over ethernet and have two additional wireless interfaces. This is my network interface list. Note that the internal wifi is wlan1 eth0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> ...

Re: TP-LINK Archer T1U Wireless AC450

Anyone who stumbles upon this later, I finally got this working with MrEngman's AMAZING script which you just run and it installs exactly the right version for your kernel version. Follow the instructions at the top of the script. Did what I was trying to do for hours in a minute. [headdesk] https:/...

Re: Transmission daemon slow and hanging

Old topic I know, but I stumbled here from Google and figured it out! My issue was I had a block list that started out as around 100 or so blocked peers and without me knowing the maintainer was quickly adding more and more to the list. My best guess was around 1,000 per day so by the time I started...

First steps to a Pi Portable

Hello everyone! I'm quite new (and young, think <15) to building computers and stuff. So I decided I really wanted a Pi laptop. So I scavenged the house for parts, and the only thing I need to go to good ol' RS for is the display. It has a massive battery (5 hours) that powers both the display and t...

Will this setup work?

So I plan on getting this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0051156TS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2FNECY9T2LH9K&coliid=ISFAQ498S1043 But it requires 12v, and my pack provides 5v. So I found a USB voltage stepper: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5W-USB-DC-5V-to-12V-Step-Up-Boost-Module-Electronic-...

Use Arduino TFT Display for the Raspberry Pi?

So I have one of this: http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/28-tft-touch-shield-p-864.html I wanted to use it with my Pi, so I first tried using my Arduino as a middleman to control the display. I couldn't convert strings to ints and strings to u_int16s and so on. So the middleman idea died. Now as a LA...

Running a DNS Server on Raspberry Pi?

What I have been wanting to do for quite a while is run a DNS server on my Pi. I want to do this because when I navigate to say 'reddit.com' after 12PM it will redirect me to a local page on my network saying that I am not allowed to visit that page. So, does anyone know of a DNS server that runs on...

Thing is, Most kids will either lie about their age or not use it at all.

Disable Velocity Movement Android 4.0

So I download the Android 4 image, but I keep loosing the cursor due to velocity movement on my mouse. If I move my mouse quickly and then stop (Not enough for the cursor to get across the screen normally) the cursor will keep moving and eventually stop due to some weird physics engine. Anyway to di...

USB Motors?

I don't really want to get into GPIO because you can destroy the borad if you plug it in wrong. So I'm here asking if there any USB motors that are for purchase.
Any ideas?

Compile C++ for RPi on Mac?

So I have been compiling a MASIVE C++ project on the RPi for the device, but it's taken 24+ hours. I can compile it in 5 minutes on my mac. Is there anyway I can compile the project on my mac for the RPi?

Re: USB Monitor?

<t>I was wondering if I could use one of those $100 USB screens on the R-PI? What I hope to do is use it as a WiFi diagnostics device. I can't use VNC because my USB WiFi card would be in monitor mode...<br/> <br/> If anyone finds a cheaper USB monitor that would work with the R-PI I'd like to know!...

Re: VNC into R-PI?

Is it at all possible to VNC into the R-PI because the only HDMI I have is my 42" TV and it's in our basement. So do you think I can just plug the PI in and then VNC into from my iPad/Laptop?
