Re: Information and Customer Respect

What's the effect called when you do launch a new, unheralded item but then can't fulfil demand for several months?

Even though your previous product had been a worldwide success? :D

Re: Information and Customer Respect

Goodness me, if I had £1 for every time the Osbourne effect was mentioned on this board I think I could retire. Of course, it could be because the official display just isn't much good when compared to the competition? Is it too much trouble/really breaches a massive commercial secret for RaspberryP...

Re: A picture from The Pi Hut

Pi hut must be loving all this free advertising.

I hope in the interests of fairness, the same coverage is given to other suppliers.

Oh wait....

Re: Ship Raspberry Pi Zero to Spain

$20 to Spain is acceptable for a tracked, signed for service, which cannot be defrauded. Not sure what your stock system point is about. Did you order more than one (despite being told not to) and have your order cancelled? You say it is acceptable to charge 400% of the price to ship something to S...

Re: Ship Raspberry Pi Zero to Spain

Or possibly have distributors with a truly international footprint, rather than ones that think that charging £20 to ship to Spain is acceptable. Or ones that operate a stock system that will only accept an order of x, rather than using a system that is incapable and then people end up having orders...

Re: Pi0 (temporarily) in stock

I also find It interesting that none of the single boards are in stock. However, if you want to buy a package with high mark up items included, there's plenty left? Where was that thread about ebay price scalpers? I finally got one too. Had to bend over and grab my ankles paying $10 for $0.75 adapte...

Re: [YouTube] R/Pi B+ & Pimoroni PiBow/PiGlow review

I think you have quoted the wring poster as Sav25 most obviously does have a youtube channel.. No one is forcing you to do the reviews. The whole point of a review is to help people like me make an informed decision to purchase but how can I be sure that it is unbiased? Not on the strength of what y...

They would only be links to genuine kit I have *bought* and used - i'd have no benefit from what I was posting. Which is the way it should be

Re: [YouTube] R/Pi B+ & Pimoroni PiBow/PiGlow review

I thoguht i'd have a quick look on the forum to see if there was any news and seem to have stumbled across some full on advertising for a single supplier, and for a device that was supplied free.

Can I spam a few random links to other suppliers in the interests of balance ?

In before the lock / deletion / random transporting of thread to an untrodden sub forum.

And there I suspect goes another user of the Pi, never to return here lest he asks another 'wrong' question. I would have thought make the effort of going through the sign up, then posting is a sign that they would like to get a de-facto answer from the source, rather than trying to decipher whateve...

I guess they can scream away. As a charitable organisation, with limited funds for things like this (otherwise, there wouldn't be any £1M fund for teaching/learning), consultants are not exactly on the shopping list. People should realise this is not multimillion $ company trying to entice customer...

Re: New Website

For what it's worth, I'm not a web developer, saw the term 'responsive', thought 'it can't mean speed' and made a guess as to what it might be and it would appear I was close (ish) so not sure why people are making such a noise over this. I have to use IE 8 at work, and the front page of the site is...

Can't echo the sentiment more of actually having a project to work towards to help you learn. Taken me too many years to understand that.
