lan scan vendor "Raspberry Pi Foundation"

Is there anyway to change the vendor, say if you do a "lanscan". It lists under vendor "Raspberry Pi Foundation"

It would be great if I could change this or hide it form potential intruders.

Thanks,

Re: new user that can run startx without sudo

Well to answer the reason why I want this. It's for an edge device for IOT. It will run and boot into a command prompt. I need an easy way for a non technical computer person to be able to join a wifi network. And writing and moving files around on the mico usb is not an option. So the system boots ...

new user that can run startx without sudo

Can you tell me how to make a user that can start "startx" (the gui ) from a command prompt where the user does NOT have sudo privileges?

If you can answer this you are truly awesome.

Thanks.

which is better overlay or this other method?

Looking to have a nice read-only system that I can unplug and not worry about it dying when its deployed. I'm finding that there are a few different ways to go and not sure what is accurate or the best practice to achieve this goal. How does Overlay compare to this approach? What do you think? Overl...

How big should the micro sd be if using read only file system raspberry pi?

Running Stretch (Not Lite). What size sd card would be optimum if I were to run it in read-only mode to protect it against corruption? If its big its just wasting the space?
