Re: There is a problem with 2013-02-09-wheezy-raspbian.zip

This is very frustating. I have installed the raspian wheeze 2012-12-16 and it was working fine for a while, but now is having a problem that it looses or drop the IP address. I was told in another post to check for voltage between TP1 and TP2, but I don't have a voltmeter at this moment. The issue ...

There is a problem with 2013-02-09-wheezy-raspbian.zip

I have downloaded this zip (torrent) twice to make sure I didn't get a bad download. The problem with this new update is that once one boot for the first time, the raspi-config launches and onces one select let's say something from the menu, the next screen refreshes and the keyboard stops working. ...

Re: Project Temp sensor - Pi not installing new Modules

the problem is that you have a corrupted /var/lib/dpkg/available file, as a result it won't work if you try to do 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' or 'sudo apt-get install packagename' before you do any changes to this file, create a copy (cd /var/lib/dpkg then sudo cp -p available available.backup) what...

RPI loose its IP address, not reason given.

I have been experimenting this problem and now is getting very annoying as it is doing it very often. While I'm connected remotely to the the RPI using tightvncviewer suddenly it gets frozen and then I get a pop-up window saying there is not connection to the RPI. I then go to the physical RPI and i...

Re: fbset -depth 32 ioctl FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO

I have the debian wheeze from December 16 2012, and have donde sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.

by typing:

fbset -depth 32 (press Enter)

a reboot would bring back the screen but the depth is low as I can see the background is not as colorful as it should.

Bueno solo tienes que hacer una busqueda en google, por ejemplo la busqueda de: 'creative ways of using a raspberrypi' da una lista bastante amplia: http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=what's+the+normal+temperature+for+raspberrypi&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest#hl=es-419&cl...

Re: Ethernet chip gets raging hot

I found a command line to check the temperature of the rpi, I don't know how trustable it is.

it's:

pi@raspberrypi $ vcgencmd measure_temp

Mine says it's 51.9 C (Celsius) after running for almost 1 day. It's boxed so the external plastic box does not feel any hot at all.

Re: fbset -depth 32 ioctl FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO

My RPI doesn't do more than Depth 16. If I do: fbset -depth 24 (or 32) it goes blank and I have to reboot and access the RPI remotly with tightvncserver (already setup to start at boot time) and then change it back to depth 16.

Re: How do I create an image of the RPI already installed.

I didn't use dd, I used win32diskimager in Windows 7 (I took the sdcard out of RPI and use an usb adapter to plug it to the PC). The image is called rpi-wheezy.img, it's 32 gb in size. Using 7zip I could compress it in bzip2 (bz2) format, and final size would be like 5gb to 10gb??, still big but not...

Re: How do I create an image of the RPI already installed.

OK, I did a backup of the 32 GB sdcard, it took hours to do it and the final image is 32 GB in size even that only 4 or 5 GB are used so far. why is this way? I thought I was going to have a compressed image or something.
