I understand that our Streamer solution based on the CM3 and DAC with XMOS based UAC2 USB 2.0 Audio interface was sent to you a good couple of months ago now, do you have any updates for us?

So much is wrong when in China working with your OEM - its just one of those things you get used to - you will certainly have far bigger problems then worrying about such "little and unprovable" shenanigan. I doubt its stole, I'm sure the Chinese manufacturer manufactured engineering "samples" for you at some time "trashed" the boards you didnt use - and they ended up on some vendors counter down in SEG... Its normal practice in China. You can even buy bare Apple iPhone PCB's in the backstreets around ...

I suspect that due to signal integrity issues the pci-e pins cannot be shared with GPIO pins - much in the same way HDMI pins need to be separated from GPIO's. There will need to be dedicated pins for the second HDMI and PCI-E Bus, maybe also for the Ethernet bus... I hope that RPi make the decision...

Thank you, I'll arrange loan units from one of our customers stock (CM3 based Streamer + USB Audio Class 2 DAC) + with a DSD256 test file installed in the streamer memory for your testing.

A gentle Ping, is there anyway you can help us here? otherwise the CM3 is very troublesome to use in USB Audio applications -placing a limit on HighRES support (such as DSD256).

We don't make the CM or CM3, RS/farnell do, under licence, so they are ACTUALLY the people you need to talk to. i doubt getting an upgraded cm4 without fixing the supply chain problem /availability for the CM3+ will do any good for raspberry foundation. I understand that MIPI is a closed interface, legally you are required to be a licensed member of the MIPI consortium - there is no way we could afford these costs. jdb, Thank you for your help with this issue. After speaking with my software guys I now have a better understanding of the "work around" your proposing - whats the number of USB devices you consider limiting the USB Host Bus to? (We need to consider that USB Hubs need to be factored as USB devices)...

WRT I2S we need to support HiRes AUdio and DSD with the DAC being clock Master (so the Audio Data from the RPI is clocked out by the audio device) - otherwise the RPI generated master clock phase nosie is way too high for performance applications. 1. Might be a silly question, your not missing I2C pull-up resistors or some such on your PCB are you by anychance?

(I'm not sure if the panel has them on its interface PCB or not - but just wondering if you have a hardware issue that's causing you to chase your tail...

I dont believe so as the datelines to the external CM3 are not physically connected on CM3 modules with onbaord eMMC - instead they are routed via resistor jumpers to the onboard eMMC memory IC.
