Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

In their manual for B101 Auvidea specifies several pinouts - I tried to match those to adafruit. I recently wired an I2S Audio Out Interface (PCM5102) on a Raspberry Pi Zero Pinout.xyz was pretty useful (as always). https://pinout.xyz/pinout/pcm# I only used 3 pins [*] I2S Audio Bit Clock (BCK -> P...

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

Hi 6by9, thanks for the update. I test the yavta new version, but I still got lost frames. v4l2-ctl --set-edid=file=/home/pi/testEDID.txt --fix-edid-checksums /home/pi/yavta/yavta --capture=10000000 -n 3 --encode-to=/home/pi/test/file.h264 -f UYVY -m -T /dev/video0 10mn test TEST 1 : 28s lost TEST 2...

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

I tried to overclock the Raspberry Pi, but I still got dropped frames.

I decided to check if the issue was with the SD card and tried to record the video in /dev/shm.
I managed to have a mp4 video without dropped frames with yavta/ffmpeg :D

So the bottleneck seems to be the sd card.

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

I applied the diff , recompiled the kernel and updated yavta . I confirm ffmpeg is not really usable , even with omx_h264. So I tried using yavta with ffmpeg, and noticed I have dropped frames. I lost 3/5 seconds when I record a 5-minute video. So I tried yavta alone , and realized I had dropped fra...

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

:D It works! I put my scripts and screenshots on github. https://github.com/maditnerd/tc358743 I cloned and built userland and I was able to compile yatva. v4l2-ctl --set-edid=file=1080P50EDID.txt --fix-edid-checksums ./yavta --capture=1000 -n 3 --encode-to=file.h264 -f UYVY -m -T /dev/video0 The ca...

Your lines look dubious - I think you want >> to append to the file! I fixed it I added cma=128M to /boot/cmdline Tried ffmpeg again and got errors in dmesg [video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x1c7d230] ioctl(VIDIOC_G_PARM): Inappropriate ioctl for device [video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x1c7d230] Time per frame unk...

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

'll make a new post soon, but https://github.com/6by9/linux/tree/unicam_v4_4.14 is my latest kernel branch which includes such a driver. It's now on V4 with the Linux mailing lists (well when I send those emails) which I hope will answer all of their review comments. Yes you need to build your own ...

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

I don't know if this is of any help, but here is how to recompile the kernel with tc358743 drivers.

Re: HDMI to CSI-2 via TC358743 on kernel 4.1

I made a bunch of test using auvidea B101 and a go pro at 1080p25 but I always end up with a slow down video (tried it with the camera module and it works fine) when I use raspivid I managed to use ffmpeg with video4linux (/dev/video0) to have a video at a normal speed but the frame rate (despite be...
