Found a related problem with http-time and how to fix it.

When running OSMC on the Raspberry Pi, which has no hardware clock, and not having access to NTP (network time protocol) due to blocking NTP port 123 by the home router AND/OR by the Internet Service Provider, there are 2 problems with OSMC Kodi on a Pi, and 2 fixes for them. 1. Fix 1 is to increase...

OSMC KODI Youtube Plugin - found fix for various errors

I have run Kodi with the Youtube Plugin on a Raspberry Pi 2. Over the years, after a fresh download of XBMC or OSMC OS, both with Kodi and Youtube, it would work for a couple of months, and then stop working. A reload would always fix it for awhile, until the problem repeats. The fix is related to t...

Re: Official V4L2 driver

Hi 6by9, My script that starts my program always sets the frame rate to 1 fps before starting the application. v4l2-ctl -p 1 The application is now set up to run at 1920x1080 (with the .h264 prelim setup), 1280x720, and at 640x480. I will probably run at 1280x720, since this is somewhat brighter vid...

Re: Official V4L2 driver

Thanks 6by9! The max_video_height and max_video_width did not make a difference in the behavior. You should know that with this problem, the image does respond throughout the range of V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE_ABSOLUTE, it is just that the exposure varies thru a much darker range. With my temporary set to h...

Re: Official V4L2 driver

I am running an application to display 1920x1080 video acquired in YUYV from the Raspberry Pi v2 camera. That application uses the bcm2835-v4l2 device driver to access the camera. The application uses the VIDIOC_S_FMT ioctl to set the YUYV format. I am running using ioctls to set V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE_A...

Re: exposure issues

I should have also mentioned that lin_guider is provided as source code only, and I have checked over the capture setup code in lin_guider as it compares to the v4l2 user space driver spec and sample code provided there. It looks to be quite ordinary with respect to the image capture setup portion.

exposure issues

I am using the bcm2835-v4l2 driver, Pi camera version 2, raspbian stretch, and lin_guider for an astrophotography guiding system project. Lin_guider is an application written to use the v4l2 API. I've got some strange exposure related issues that I hope someone can shed some light on. I need long ex...
