Re: 256 MB model not working ?

I think (TM) I did apt-get update, no upgrade and then updated openssl only. And I am sure I did not do rpi-update, that could be the problem. Btw, how do I find out which specific version of 256MB rpi do I have ?

256 MB model not working ?

Hi there. I have been using 256 MB model with Raspbian for many months. I did some update on April 15th (openssl patch ?, don't remember) without a reboot. Today I needed to reboot (after 97 days uptime) and raspi did not come up. When I put the SD card into another raspberry, which is 512 MB, it wo...

raspbian disk problem after trying Raspbmc

This is a strange one. I have Raspbian installation which worked for weeks now. Keyboard is connected directly to raspi, other usb is connected to powered USB hub. There are just HDD and wifi dongle in hub. As I said, this was working nicely for a long time. I did a backup of SD card and then instal...

Re: Updating to the 2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian image

Hm, is that just me ? After apt-get upgrade I see the same problem which was here couple of months ago - after some time, deluged fails. I don't remember what was the solution last time. I was running deluged without a problem since start of August.

Re: Bitorrent client

I use deluge as well. I have been using it on Ubuntu for some years, so the transition was easy. And I can still browse inernet on Ubuntu and put torrent files to deluge in raspbian via remote GUI. Very comfortable.

Re: ASUS USB-N10 WiFi Adapter

I have some problems with this adapter. Everything worked as expected from begining, but after some time (10 mins, 30 mins, 2 hours, varies) it goes down. There is nothing in logs, only that ifplugd detected the beam was off so it shut down the interface. I forced ifplugd to ignore it but I see the ...

Re: any one get ssh x11 forwarding working

With the caveat that it should, of course, "just work", I have to ask: Is there any reason to go the "X forwarding" route, as opposed to going the VNC route? The VNC route seems a lot cleaner and normal-er to me. VNC starts the whole X server, so it consumes more CPU cycles. X forwarding is always ...

Re: any one get ssh x11 forwarding working

On Ubuntu you have to allow remote connection coming. Issue "xhost +" (of course more secure is to specify just single IP)

Re: any one get ssh x11 forwarding working

Worked for me without any configuration.

Maybe it would help if you ssh -X to raspbian and post
1. echo $DISPLAY
2. actual copy/paste error from running midori or lnxterm

Re: Preferred wifi adapter?

Not answering your question, because I don't think there is any agreed upon preferred adapter. Just a word of warning, even those adapters that are reported as good may behave strangely. I bought Asus N10, it worked on raspbian out of the box, all fine. But later I realized I am getting errors when ...

Compiling omxplayer

Hi all. I am trying to compile omxplayer on Raspbian. I found the source, I started compilations. I have not found any instructions which packages are needed. So far I had to install libboost-dev libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev but now I am stuck with libswresample, it is not in the default raspbian ...

Re: how to record a kernel error

Problem is the computer is dead after I get this. Al I can do is to have a look at the screen, if I started that scp command there I see the messages. Other than that I can only unplug the power. And BTW, it is the first message I see. I did more googling and it looks like it happened to people in 2...

how to record a kernel error

Today my raspbian crashed three times at the same spot, when copying file over ssh. On the screen I saw a message like "BUG in kernel" and there was also .c file and line number. Of course I don't remember. After reboot I cannot find this error anywhere in /var/log. Where to look if I want to report...

CRDA with USB wifi

Hello, I have Raspbian (works great) on my Pi, all works fine except I loose wifi connectivity from time to time. I pinned this down to CRDA and I have no idea what to do next. I installed iw and crda and I defined my country in /etc/default/crda file. I can also change the country manually from com...

It behaves this way on raspbian, it worked on wheezy. Another problem is, when I play a movie, which does not cover the whole screen, I can see con...
