Re: Camera Aspect ratio problems (cropping 4x3 in raspivid)

Thanks for the info... I do need a full 30fps, but this is still interesting stuff!

Re: Camera Aspect ratio problems (cropping 4x3 in raspivid)

Thanks for the information--good to know i wasn't just doing something wrong. I'll be watching this closely as being able to access the full field of view would be fantastically useful for me.
Thanks,
michael

Camera Aspect ratio problems (cropping 4x3 in raspivid)

Hi, So, I'm trying to pull video from the camera using the full sensor, which i understand is a 4x3 aspect ration ( 2592 x 1944). I would expect then, if i were to run raspivid -w 640 -h 480 to see an image on the screen that represents the entire exposed image on the sensor. This is not the case, h...

Re: egl_render clock problem

It seems I was mistaken about the source of the problem. It was actually that I wasn't setting the CFLAGS correctly. I have no idea which flag in particular causes the clock to not work correctly, but pasting in the following CFLAGS (taken from the hello_pi Makefile.include file) fixed everything: -...

egl_render clock problem

As written, hello_videocube doesn't seem to actually time the media correctly. It's possible that this isn't apparent in the example code because the raspberry pi isn't actually fast enough to run that particular demo smoothly. When I substitute in a smaller piece of media (specifically, a 720x480 h...

omxplayer stutters on playbac

I'm running the latest image of raspbian (from december, I think). While the hello_video example works just fine, any h264 playback from the included omxplayer stutters (including the test.h264 that comes with the hello_video example). Is there some trick to achieving smooth playback? I'm also using...

h264 with audio

Hi,
Does anyone have an example of playing back h264 video with an audio track? Something based on video.c in hello_video, perhaps?
Thanks!

(solved) changes preventing booting of old SD card image?

I have an old SD card image that I bought along with a raspberry pi back in June or so (Debian was preloaded onto the card). Very recently, I bought several new blank cards and a several new raspberry pis. I copied the SD card multiple times and tested each copy in the original, working raspberry pi...

Re: Boot with SD readonly?

I've done a bit of googling and it seems that there are 3 ways of write protecting an sd card... One is the the physical switch that can be ignored by a reader. The others involve setting particular bits on the SD card. One of the bits cannot be re-written once it is written (permanent write protect...

Re: Boot with SD readonly?

Is there some way of physically write protecting the SD card, insuring that the raspberry pi cannot write to it?

Re: Switching video playback streams

Oh... and there's one more trick... at the end of the loop there's a line that reads as follows: ilclient_wait_for_event(video_render, OMX_EventBufferFlag, 90, 0, OMX_BUFFERFLAG_EOS, 0, ILCLIENT_BUFFER_FLAG_EOS, 10000); This will wait until the buffer is clear and there's no other way to cancel the ...

Re: Switching video playback streams

To demonstrate the idea... launch a separate thread to listen for some sort of input and raise a flag in response. At the top of the main loop in the video.c sample program, put in a conditional statement that executes the following code when the flag is raised. This code will clear out the video buf...

Widespread availability?

When is it expected that the Raspberry Pi will be widely available? Let's say I wanted to purchase a few hundred... by when would that be possible?
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Switching video playback streams

After many hours of trial and error, I got it working properly by doing the following: first, flushing the input/outpus of the video_decode component. Then, making sure that I actually wait for those operations to complete. Then, setting the clock state to Stopped. Then, setting the clock state to W...

Switching video playback streams

Working off the hello_video example, I'm trying to figure out how to cleanly switch between video sources. I've already gotten the example to load multiple files and switch between them on command... the issue is that the video_decode component seems to buffer a few seconds of video... I want to cle...
