Re: 64-bit operating system

Especially since 64 bit is not needed for 99% of users and applications of a Pi. I really detest such baseless statements. Can you show me what you base these figures on? We need a 64 bit OS to be able to update MongoDB to 3.2+. But because that needs a 64 bit OS, we are stuck with MongoDB 2 which ...

Re: Touchscreen Acer 272HL not working

I use a similar Acer screen, and also used this work around, which enabled the touch to work, but we are facing a problem that it *stops* working after a while for no apparent reason. Restarting the Pi resolves the issue. Any idea of where we could look to find debugging information?

Re: big touch screen

The only thing that worked to get this screen to work was using `dwc_otg.speed=1` in /boot/cmdline.txt Really a bummer, Dell stopped making their glass panel touch screen which worked flawlessly with the Raspberry Pi, so we were stuck with Acer which is pretty much the last manufacturer of reasonabl...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.14

I am experiencing issues with 4.14 crashing the Raspberry Pi when reading inputs from the GPIO.
The issue is documented here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2550

How can I run `apt-get upgrade` on an older version of Raspbian but avoid the kernel being upgraded from 4.9 to 4.14?

Re: How to exit x?

Running pkill x through ssh (or in the background) was the only one that worked for me.
The keyboard combinations had no effect whatsoever.

Re: Raspbian Stretch: Wifi not starting on boot

I can confirm that with the latest Raspbian Lite Stretch image, all that is needed to get wifi to work on boot is put a wpa_supplicant.conf file in /boot with the aforementioned 3 lines and your network configuration. That, plus the ssh file to enable ssh, allowed me to ssh into my pi with the fresh...
