tkinter memory Leak.

Hi, I've made a program which uses a PWM Pihat to control servo motors which act as shutters for a laser. The servos are powered by a seperate power supply (5v 2A) using the ADA2327 Hat. It also has two switch inputs that are connected to magnetic doors switches to close the shutter if a door is ope...

Time between button presses

I'm trying to code in a way of measuring time between presses of a switch and stop the process if the time exceeds a set amount. I have a automated cycle testing rig which is mostly set up now. It cycles a thread in and out using a stepper motor which should take around 40 seconds for a complete cyc...

Re: Stepper motor control using Pi

Thanks for the all the pointers. I realised my mistake with setting STEP to 17, instead of 21. Also the SPR was set far too low at 48, so it barely moved at all. I set it higher and it works a treat now. Although I've managed to fry the DRV8825 because I didn't fit the 100uf capacitor accross the po...

Programming a Loop into a Stepper motor function

I'm a complete python noob, so I'm a bit stuck here. I'm programming a stepper motor via a Pololu DRV8825 to cycle test a screw thread in and out thousands of times. I've been using this as a guide: http://www.rototron.info/raspberry-pi-stepper-motor-tutorial/#resources So far I've got the motor spi...

Re: Stepper motor control using Pi

I'm having some issues getting it all running. I've been using this as a guide: http://www.rototron.info/raspberry-pi-stepper-motor-tutorial/ I've set up the motor and connected it all to the DRV8825 and to the Pi. I started with the code : from time import sleep import RPi.GPIO as GPIO DIR = 20 # D...

Re: Stepper motor control using Pi

Thanks. So far I'm looking at this motor: http://www.robotshop.com/uk/12v-17a-416oz-geared-bipolar-stepper-motor.html and the DRV8825 driver: https://www.proto-pic.co.uk/drv8825-stepper-motor-driver-carrier-high-current.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwlrnNBRBMEiwApKU4PHgs8oH03q55fl_J7LYQRp8BNkmHi-_f0pjO83S03pL8b...

Stepper motor control using Pi

Hi all, I'm looking to use a Pi to control a stepper motor to do some cycle testing. I need it to control a reasonably powerful motor, around 3-4nm of torque, so I believe the Pi won't be powerful enough to drive it. I've seen that there are some driver circuits that work off the GPIO pins and use a...
