You are likely in a race condition with the system. I ran into a similar issue when I installed a package that updated my serial settings. As mentioned above you should verify your Raspi-config settings for your serial port. Sudo Raspi-config —> Interfacing options —> serial —> no —> yes Reboot

USB Automounted Read-only (Config file?)

Sorry for a simple question post, but I've been all over looking for an answer with no luck. I'm looking for the config file that will let me edit read/write permissions for Automounted USB drives so I can make them writable.
