Re: New TV Tuner from HQ

I've not been able to find reviews of people actually using this. I currently have a RPi 3 set up with a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD TV stick plugged in. I stream TV over the network using Plex. The Pi3 is just about managing to do the job, but it's not perfect. I've not tried it with two streams yet eit...

Re: New Open GL Driver, Bug report thread

I get the black screen and my monitor tells me that the Input Signal is out of range. Via SSH I have got this error message showing; pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo startx xauth: file /root/.Xauthority does not exist X.Org X Server 1.17.2 Release Date: 2015-06-16 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Oper...

PyGame Problem

Hi all, I'm working with some college students to teach them about the possibilities of a STEM career. They are building a project that was set and starting to look at the presentation. I created a GUI for them utilising PyGame and that works just fine on a desktop. I also tested it on a Raspberry P...

Re: External HDD monitor

The spin down does work. It's just that sometimes it spins up again, and I'd like to identify what process/action/trigger is spinning it up again. As to converting to ext4, it's a 2TB drive, that is very full. It would be more both than it is worth to clear the data off, reformat, then put the data ...

Re: External HDD monitor

As the Pi spends a lot of its time doing nothing, I would like it to spin down. It's a consumer external hard drive, doubt it's been built for continuous use.

I did not set up any form of swapping to it. It is formatted as NTFS so it has no swap partition.

External HDD monitor

Hi, Got my Pi setup with a number of different services, such as a time machine backup, file server, etc. These are all stored on a 2TB external hard drive. Sometimes when I'm not doing anything with the Pi at all, I hear the hard drive spin up unnecessarily. I would like to try and work out what is...

Cases and Cooling

Hi, I've been thinking about casing my RPi for a bit of protection. There are some fantastic designs out there, but I have wandered what happens to the temperatures of the parts? Surely enclosing the RPi and trapping the air inside, the temps will go a lot higher as cool air will not be there to tak...
