Re: How to bring up Raspberry Pi board

Nice catch ukscone.

On topic though, I\'ve never booted from an SD card... once it\'s formatted correctly, can\'t I just copypasta the files onto the card?

Re: R-Pi as a media player?

I'm planning on using RPi:B just for the extra memory - 128mb can probably run what I need, but just in case...

My other concern is buffering video from NAS - quite a few places it could get bottlenecked. (I don't know a whole lot about hardware...)

Re: Raspberry Pi Bootup Sound Discussion

I imagine it\'d be quite a few pennies to add one... for a non-critical item I\'d hope it\'s not on there.

Might be an easy educational project for students though.

Re: HTPC with XBMC?

<r>Does XBMC run on any OS that runs on ARM?<br/> <br/> One of my first thoughts for the RPi was a cheap HTPC. I'm moving all my data to a RAID1 NAS anyways, so I won't need to actually store anything on the device, so the requirements are incredibly low.<br/> <br/> I was planning on using VLC becau...

Re: Thanks RPi team!

<r>I\'ve spent a few hours sifting through forum posts, tracking down details to see if my ideas will work. During this time, I\'ve been very impressed by how well the RPi team has communicated with everyone here. With the demo videos coming in, it\'s clear that this isn\'t vaporware and I\'m gettin...
