Re: v4l2h264dec instead of omxh264dec

I managed to fix the dma-buf.h,just to note, I am using custom build of MESA 19.02. Anyway this pipeline: gst-launch-1.0 -vv -e filesrc location=foo.mkv ! matroskademux ! h264parse ! v4l2h264dec capture-io-mode=4 ! v4l2convert output-io-mode=5 capture-io-mode=4 ! video/x-raw,format=BGRA,width=640,he...

Re: v4l2h264dec instead of omxh264dec

Actually I have the latest Gstreamer 1.16. With the beforementioned commit. I don't have the element v4l2videoconvert but I have element v4l2convert with the caps and parameters therefore I hope that the need for "disable_bayer=1" is not necessary. According to other help: http://gstreamer-devel.966...

Re: v4l2h264dec instead of omxh264dec

Dear sir, thank you very much for your help. I have RPI3B+, X11, Gstreamer 1.16, KMS driver,no window manager in X11 Based on your recommendation, I played test files this way : gst-launch-1.0 -e filesrc location=/home/pi/jellyfish-15-mbps-hd-h264.mkv ! matroskademux ! h264parse ! v4l2h264dec captur...

GLX KMS driver performance

Dear all,

is it possible to run x11 OpenGL application GlxGears resulting in framerate more than ~60fps?
Did anyone achieve a number more than 100 fps?
I tried KMS as well as FKMS, but the performance is more or less 60 fps no matter what I do.

Thank you

v4l2h264dec instead of omxh264dec

Dear all, would you mind helping me resolve my issue? I am running Gstreamer 1.14.4 as well as 1.16 on Raspbian upgraded to kernel 4.19.*. I would like to replace omxh264dec with v4l2h264dec, my original pipeline is this: gst-launch-1.0 rtspsrc location="rtsp://10.0.0.3:8555/test" latency=0 ! rtph26...

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

Just to make it clear, I want to run v4l2h264dec with dmabuf=4 on Raspbian, that means 32 bit system. Since I did not find much information about using v4l2h264dec on Raspbian, I triend Gentoo (64bit) because on Raspberry Gentoo image documentation, it is written that it can run v4l2 codecs with tak...

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

Dear sir,

what do you mean by rash assumption? You mean trying to run something that is clearly written that is working in Gentoo?
64 bit?
This is a Sakaki statement:
"Leveraging recently improved 64-bit support in the official Raspberry Pi kernel tree, the image supports"

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

In Raspbian I am using KMS, I just triend Gentoo (it uses FKMS) because in Raspbian, I was not able to run the pipeline with v4l2h264dec capture-io-mode=4, only capture-io-mode=2 was possible to run and that is not dmabuf. OMX works fine

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

Ok, do you recommend to start a new thread? Anyway, I mentioned the pipeline before, so once more: gst-launch-1.0 -e -vvv filesrc location=test.mkv ! matroskademux ! \ queue ! h264parse ! v4l2h264dec capture-io-mode=4 ! \ glimagesink I used Raspbian 32 bit version with kernel obtained from rpi-updat...

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

On Raspbian with Gstreamer 1.14.4 or 1.16 compiled. Using v4l2h264dec does not work at all.
Replacing v4l2h264dec with omxh264dec works file.

Re: 4.19 kernel 64 bit support - please report issues here

Dear all, I would like to kindly ask you for a help. I tried to take advantage of hardware acceleration exposed via v4l2 present in kernel 4.19 via Gstreamer according to web page: https://github.com/sakaki-/gentoo-on-rpi3-64bit/wiki/Using-the-RPi3%27s-Video-Codecs-and-Camera-Module I ran this comma...

Compiling Clutter + OpenGL

Dear all, I am trying to compile Clutter from sources with OpenGL 2.1 support (or OpenGL ES 2.0 support), I downloaded it via: apt-get source libclutter-1.0-0 And ran: ./configure But I am facing this output: checking OpenGL/gl.h usability... no checking OpenGL/gl.h presence... no checking for OpenG...

Re: has anyone installed clutter+COGL in raspberry pi(raspbian os )?

Dear sir,

what exactly you want to do with clutter? As far as I know there are two options. You can install clutter library from repository, but it is not the newest version. If you want to get the up to date version, I would encourage you to compile it and install it from sources.

Dear sir, do you still keep on building OMX packages? Do you mind sharing the deb package with me? I do not want to use repository package. Re: VC4 - latest update cause flickering?

Hello,

actually, running VC4 driver after update is causing my system not working at all. It just boots with messages and screen stops working totally.
It's the driver which is causing it and it started after apt-get upgrade.

Re: Wayland on stretch

In theory that should work brilliantly Unfortunately to really see benefits you would have to use the rpi-backend for Weston but that was scrapped as it only ever supported Pi1 on Wheezy That said Pi0 is close enough to Pi1 you may be able to get Wheezy to run but you would have things like Gtk 3.4...

Re: Wayland on stretch

Actually, if we are talking about decoding H264, that is done by the OMX gstreamer plugin utilizing the GPU core having hardware accelerated H264 video deconding/encoding. GPU's OpenGL hadware acceleration is used to enhance the speed of video rendering using clutter via KMS VC4 driver. That is how ...

Ok, I probably did not explain it properly, I have GUI application on top of X11 based on GTK, clutter and gstreamer, it is supposed to render real time video stream in a window and it has few GUI buttons to control the stream, thanks to all these technologies it runs on Pi Zero on top of X11 very f...

Re: Wayland on stretch

Ok I finally made it. Just --libdir and autoconf did most of the magic. GTK application on Wayland works, CLUTTER also works hopefully with COGL, no problem running Weston after start. Video rendering is a bit slow, but could be caused by Weston, GTK, clutter and gstreamer combination, working appli...

Just curious (as I know very little of the tech specifics), will this have any impact on further work on this here?: The future of Wayland, and sway's role in it It was stated above that Wayland / Weston has been abandoned at this present time as a replacement for Xorg in Raspbian Operating System....

Re: Wayland on stretch

I am sorry, creating libclutter symlinks to directory manually is not a very wise idea, I did it, but after ldconfig it again restores links to previous links to old installed libraries from respository (strangely recompiled libgtk still works) Anyway, after repairing my system with autoconf, it see...

Re: Wayland on stretch

Hello, thank you very much, I tried the --prefix switch, however it always adds /lib directory therefore I shrinked ${prefix}/lib to ${prefix} only. But it makes problems therefore instead of --prefix I set the switch --libdir the desired directory, compiles fine but make install again yields proble...
