Re: Temp sensor that sends alert to cell phone?

Who likes cheese? Who likes goat cheese? Well, goat cheese is not so hard to make, but it requires a lot of time. The thing that takes so much time is waiting for the pasteurizer to finish preparing the milk for cheesemaking. My parents run a goat cheese dairy, and they've been making cheese for 25...

Hymas Wood Kegerface

Hi All Not sure if you remember the original Kegerface project? Well, here is my take on it.... Not only have I changed how the Beer information is stored and retrieved on the display, I have integrated a temperature sensor and RFID reader into the idea as well. Full details are on my website at htt...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.03 released

@remlap: Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.. Do other emulators (like Atari800) work properly? @anddav87: rpix86 needs to be run from the console, it does not work via ssh or vnc or similar remote connections (at the moment). I have plans to add a possibility to run it inside X window enviro...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.03 released

Ok so I feel really thick, but I can't get it to run? I have copied the rpix86 file over to my pi and also the 4dos.com file, but how do I run it from the terminal? And does this work over ssh? I would assume so as you said not to run it graphically? Have tried to chmod +x it and also tried ./rpix86...

Re: Unicode Decode

Thanks jojopi... I have almost given up, it's doing my head in! Have seen two other people use this code online and it works fine for them, updating a status with media. Tried using Tweepy and another Twitter package and I can update my status ok with them, but they don't seem to support adding a pi...

Re: Unicode Decode

It seems that you are using an utf-8 encoded string which Python tries to decode as ascii (and fails because it includes non-ascii characters). If that is the case you just need to manually set the decoder to utf-8. Here is an example: >>> a = '(\xef\xbd\xa1\xef\xbd\xa5\xcf\x89\xef\xbd\xa5\xef\xbd\...

Re: Unicode Decode

I'm not sure where the error lies exactly but the "ordinal not in range" is due to something in python or the OS only handling the first 128 ASCII characters. I had a similar error using the chr function to convert an ASCII code to a character. Dave. Edit.. It looks like the hex ff is in one or all...

Unicode Decode

Am figuring this is pretty common, so any ideas on what I can do? I am using Python 2.7 Error: UnicodeDecodeErr...
