Emulator then Image to Disk
Hi Folks, I know when I first came on board to the forums, I couldn't find any reliable emulators, especially none where you can take the disk image and write this to an SD card, so your Pi is "pre-configured" and "pre-installed". I know its been a few years, and I know tech has ...

Pi Speed-Camera app
I came across the great speed camera app - written by pageauc, and I have been configuring it for a while now, however, I have had some problems and wondered if anyone else had seen them, I find that some pedestrians, specifically those with prams seem to be rather rapid, one was 35mph! Also there d...

Re: Netflix no longer runs on Pi
You might try the kodi 18 beta version, which now should support Netflix and similar services. Edit: comfirmed by Rascas: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=222954#p1369419 I dont use Kodi, I just use the Chromium "manipulation string" to make Netflix think its ru...

Netflix no longer runs on Pi
Hi Folks, Not sure if anyone can help. I once followed the guide here: https://thepi.io/how-to-watch-netflix-on-the-raspberry-pi/ I managed to run Netflix on there for some time, and it was working fine, but recently, its got a new error. M7121-1331-P7 appears on the page when I try to load an appli...

Hi Folks, Are you able to assist with an issue I am having now? I have attempted to configure my pi as a print server, using CUPS. I installed CUPS, configured a printer and from within cups on the local server / from any other computer on the network - I can print a test page from within without is...

Re: Extremely Slow Pi SFTP Server
After further looking, I can see even with the FTP transfer, and a local transfer over the LAN, CPU struggled to get over 20% and RAM was sat around 60%, when LAN had finished, it was idling around 8% CPU and around 40% RAM.
I am lost as to why this is so slow... Any further ideas?

Re: Extremely Slow Pi SFTP Server
Just done a comparison, took the same 5GB which was transferred across the FTP, and copied them across. The transfer rate was between 1.5Mbps for small files, and 15Mbps for larger files. That was just accessing the internal IP address on my LAN and copying them across (using Samba as the internal N...

Re: Extremely Slow Pi SFTP Server
Thanks for your reply. The internet connection i am using outside home is typically idle, doesnt do anything intensive like voip. Doing an upload speed test it was showing 7Mbps upload speed, so I dont know if its limited by the ISP. Especially as at the same time, I transferred on the same connecti...

Extremely Slow Pi SFTP Server
Hi Folks, I am using my Pi as a home server. One of the benefits of the setup is having my USB devices connected, I managed to configure SFTP. The setup is as follows: Pi3 B+ - Up to date with Stretch Samba installed as NAS on local network (speeds are considerably faster) SSH Enabled on Stretch BT ...

Re: Shell script won't run just edit
Primarily because this was the "test" phase of familiarizing and improving my ability to write scripts. The next step would be to take the contents of this known working batch file, rename it, and change the content to be, for example: sudo mount /dev/sda2 /pi/home/USBDrive sudo mount /dev...

Re: Shell script won't run just edit
Sorry for the delay The file is as is, so I guess not :( All I really want to do, is to have a single click file I can run this from, as one of the scripts I want to run (as I dont want to mess with the fstab file) is to click and run the mounting of several USB drives to local drives, to use with s...

Re: Virtualise an SD Card instance on PC
this is what I was thinking, the architecture emulation of QEMU is good, but it lacked the SD, likewise Virtualbox and such like has the emulation options and could run the SD but not the architecture.
Nevermind, I achieved my goals in the end.

Virtualise an SD Card instance on PC
Hi Folks, I was wondering if its possible, to virtualise not just RPi on PC, but to use the image on an SD card (so it can be swapped between) The thought is, I want to configure my Pi, but want to configure it via my laptop, do the installs etc, updates, plugins, configurations - and then plug the ...

Unfortunately, I have tried that, and it doesnt seem to work right, it seems to kill any interactivity, and turns VNC into a monitor only lol

Configuring Kodi through VNC - Not Displayed
Hi Folks, I have been trying to get Kodi running on my raspberry Pi, to use as a home entertainment system. Currently running Stretch, and installed Kodi but it doesnt show via VNC. I understand this is to do with the method of virtualising the display which otherwise couldnt be captured via VNC as ...

Re: Unable to access Pi from outside world!
Hi All, Well, ironically I could, then I could not! My Pi has been on now for some time, and about half an hour ago I got bored, tried to connect to My,Hostname.org and it connected, I could even browse webmin, and triggered 63 updates! Sadly, after this, webmin stopped responding. I thought perhaps...

Hi All, I have my pi home server setup, but seem to be having considerable problems getting it to automount at boot. I have changed the /etc/fstab file as so: proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 PARTUUID=29469a15-01 /boot vfat defaults 0 2 PARTUUID=29469a15-02 / ext4 defaults, noatime 0 1 /dev/sda1/ /Media/...

I can completely agree, however, I have none. The failure is that I couldnt even get it to start... I tried the following commands, all of which error saying they dont exist. wget https://github.com/billw2/rpi-clone (file downloaded) ls (returned desktop, docs, downloads, etc and "rpi-clone" ...
