Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Have you edited /etc/network/interfaces to use wpa_supplicant? I've not been able to get my system up using wpa-supplicant but haven't been able to figure out why so far. There's an example wpa_supplicant.conf walkthrough on the raspi wiki http://elinux.org/RPi_edimax_EW-7811Un I gave that a shot a...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

My Edimax EW-7811Un was delivered today, so I took the first opportunity to set up and execute MrEngMan's script on a fresh Debian SD card, however the wlan0 interface remains Unassociated. What happens if you try the command ifup --force wlan0 I get this... pi@raspberrypi:~$ ifup --force wlan0 ifu...

How to adjust RPi VNC screen res > ~650x420?

My Debian Squeeze RPi ModelB works great through ssh using x11vnc, the only thing is it defaults to a smallish screen size, apprx. 650x420. Is this the size of a framebuffer, perhaps? The VNC window goes on for some while below the 420 line mark, which usually indicates video memory of some sort IIR...

Re: New Pi, DLInk DWA-121 Wifi - Freezes USB

The issues being experienced in this thread are likely related, since the chipset involved is a near cousin to this one - the Realtek RTL8191SU vs the 8192. Re: New Pi, DLInk DWA-121 Wifi - Freezes USB

Incidentally, I did find some old drivers here but they wouldn't compile.

The readme in the tar file does seem to indicate this is based on the rtl8192CU chipset...

New Pi, DLInk DWA-121 Wifi - Freezes USB

Well I was happy to see my RPi make its way over the pond thanks to the folks at RS. I've successfully set it up headless, using Debian on a 16GB card with an expanded working partition (gparted works wonders). I'm using ssh and x11vnc to shell in and get a virtual display (though it's small, 656xso...
