Re: Pi with 2 ethernet ports to create router and run PFsense

http://www.raspbsd.org/ This project can download a full version for the raspberry pi 2. Or you could just use the Official version of FreeBSD: RPi B https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/arm/armv6/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/ RPi 2 https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/arm/armv7/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/ RPi 3...

Re: FreeBSD with Wireless support for Raspberry RPI3 ?

Yep, simplest solution, just use a supported USB wifi stick. :) That seems a little vague. Maybe you could ellaborate? e.g., Where can folks find a list of USB Wi-Fi sticks that are supported by FreeBSD ? Do you have experience with any particular USB-Wi-Fi adapters? Re: Use Pi as Firewall

...use a USB ethernet adapter which will give over 3x performance compared to the ethernet port which should give around 95Mbits/sec with iperf. Thanks, Jeremy! I'm curious about your results: IIUC: The on-board FastEthernet NIC is connected via the USB bus. Why would a USB-Ethernet adapter provide...

Re: Use Pi as Firewall

You can try downloading FreeBSD for the RPI3 or RPI2 from http://www.raspbsd.org/. FreeBSD-12-RELEASE supports the Raspberry Pi.You can download it from the FreeBSD repositories: RPi B https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/arm/armv6/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/ RPi 2 https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releas...

If you aren't using GPIO pins 5&6, eg an RTC or other I2C device, then connect a switch between pins 5 & 6.

It will restart the Pi but not shut it down if running.
I can confirm that this also works for the Raspberry Pi 3 B.

Re: FreeBSD with Wireless support for Raspberry RPI3 ?

Is there any update on this issue?

I just spent two days getting FreeBSD-12.0 to work on my Pi 3 B and I'd really like it if I could use the Pi's Wi-Fi interface!

Has anyone found a fix for this? (The retainer on 2 of my 3 Raspberry Pi Zero's have broken!) :o

Re: Portland, Oregon

I'm very surprised that there aren't already any RPi groups here in PDX - Esecially with so many maker spaces and the like in the Portland Metro area ! I'm planning a regular, monthly get-together at the North Portland Library (on Killingsworth Ave., over by Portland Community College and Jefferson ...

Re: Raspbian 2017-03-02 Causes Blank Screen

I reverted to NOOBS, Version 2017-03-02; rebooted twice; used NOOBS to install Raspbian Jessie; manually edited /boot/config.txt [to restore the values that had worked for me previously] and the R-Pi is able to use the Dell 2007FP again at 1600x1200 resolution [with the HDMI cable and HDMI-DVI adapt...

Raspbian 2017-03-02 Causes Blank Screen

Hello, All: My Raspberry Pi 3, Model B is connected to my Dell 2007FP (1600x1200 @ 60 Hz) with an HDMI-DVI adapter. When I was using NOOBS, video was working using these settings (in /boot/config.txt): hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=51 hdmi_drive=1 Now that I've switched to Rasbian, Version 2017-03-02, vide...
