Re: VLI firmware v2.0 - powersaving features enabled

Hi Cures the problem I had mounting my USB drives either solid state, standard drive or USB sticks. I have no problems with reboots and the temperature is 2.5 to 3 degrees lower with my fan shim running all the time it is at 38C most of the time only increases when very busy i.e. playing video. Many...

Lollypop Music Player

Hi

Would it be possible to add Lollypop music player to Raspbian? It is a good player I used to use on my old desktop but is not available in Raspbian, it should work well on the Pi 4.

Thanks

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 - new VLI firmware issues

I have a USB 3.0 CiT case for an old 2.5 inch hdd and get the same issues plus it is not seen on both ports on my Pi4 with the new firmware but reverting back to the old firmware it sees it on both ports and is really fast. Adding usb-storage.quirks=152d:0578:u to the cmdline.txt makes a vast improv...

Raspberry Pi Official Keyboard

I see there is no option in the keyboard type selection for the new keyboard? So which one do I select? It all works with the default settings apart fro the scroll lock, the led works if I use "xset -led 2 led on" and "xset -led 2 led off". Any help apprciated.

Password Change

I have just noticed that using the gui raspi-config to change the password does not use what you enter if you put a $ sign in the password, I have not checked the command line raspi-config but passwd is fine. I have not used raspi-config before always passwd so I thought I would see if any one else ...

Re: DS18B20 issue with pi 3 - no detection

I have the same problem with all my 3 Raspberry PI Zero w's the sensor works fine with my older pi's and my 2 and 3. All I see in /sys/bus/w1/devices are ever changing entries such as 00-300000000000 00-700000000000 00-b00000000000 . The 00-X changes and the serial number if the 1-wire device never ...

owfs

Hi

Has anyone else noticed that the version of owfs in Rasbian has a bug? You cannot use aliases because if you do the device directories are empty. This was a know bug in owfs for several releases.

Re: Best waterproof temperature and humidity sensor solution

You can spray the boards with water proofing lacquer but as was said above keep the humidity sensor component itself clear as it needs to absorb moisture to give a reading. I have mine inside a Stevenson Screen which protects them from the bulk of the weather.

Re: New Case

Received the case to day and it is excellent really looks the part on my desk. If you intend to use the GPIO connector this isn't the case for you but as I intend to use it to run my 1-Wire network with OWFS this won't be an issue for me.
