Google AIY Project

I know these projects are over 2 years old, but, I have two sets of boards, micrpophones and buttons, which I am throwing out, if any one wants them. Contact me at e.bias@hotmail.com if interested, and we can organise getting them to you. If no interest by weekend, they will be thrown into the bin. ...

Google project

I have two kits of the Google 'voice' project, that came free with MagPi, a while ago. They are up for grabs, if anyone wants them? No boxes, or packaging, the Voice Hat, microphone and button are all there. If interested, email me e.bias@hotmail.com, and we can sort out posting them. FREE items, ju...

Google Voice project from a few months back.

Hiya.
I have decided to go in a different direction with my RPi 3.
Therefore, I have 3 sets of the project that came with the MagPi.
All have the hardware, but, due to my inability to build a simple card board box, they have no boxes.
FREE if any one wants to collect them.
PM me if interested.

Re: at what point do i type in the /home/pi/client_secret.js

I am obviously doing something wrong....but, I do not know what!
Struggling to get mine up and running, despite following the instructions carefully.
Ah well....at least the speaker will come in handy for something else....

Re: Where to buy MagPi #57 with AIY kit?

A neighbour popped by a few mins ago. He gave me a MagPi and kit. When he bought it, he thought it had the WHOLE lot in, including Pi 3.
He damaged the outer wrapper, and, the project box, but, otherwise, everything else is fine...so, I have a spare. Yippee!!

Re: Roller shade control over 433mhz

This may, or may not, be relevant, but, please be aware, that the Amateur Radio spectrum, and indeed, Military Radio Spectrum, use 433 MHz, for communications. You may experience some interference, especially if you are in an area where there is an active 'radio repeater'. Usage by Radio Amateurs, m...

Re: at what point do i type in the /home/pi/client_secret.js

I have tried this myself...it responds with error messages, different each time.
First one said 'no command found', second stated 'file not found', and seems to randomly generate these messages every time I repeat the steps.

Re: Where to buy MagPi #57 with AIY kit?

My local WHSmith had a few this morning...and one of the assistants got a few more from stock.
I picked one up for a neighbour.

Sam
Many thanks for updating this thread.
Hopefully you will be feeling much better soon, and I hope the family member had a wonderful birthday.
I cannot wait for the upgrade....really looking forward to experimenting and building OSMC's.

Take care.

Re: Pi Zero W and OSMC

Many thanks for the speedy reply.
From what I have read, it would appear that OSMC has yet to be up-dated/upgraded to take advantage of WiFi on the new Zero W.
I will await, patiently, the newest release.

Pi Zero W and OSMC

Hello...me again....sorry. I have downloaded and installed a 'clean' image of OSMC for the Pi Zero. However, it does not seem to connect to the internet via the built-in wireless. Being a total newbie, and, having looked, but cannot find any info on here, I am wondering if someone could offer some a...

Re: Zero4U USB Board

Many thanks to everyone for being so helpful, and not ridiculing a newbie.... I went to the local Pound Shop (bargain/cheap store in UK for our overseas cousins), and, purchased a 3 port USB hub for, yes, you guessed it, £1.00. Works fine on my old v1.2 Pi, so, will not need the Zero4U for my old on...

Re: Zero4U USB Board

alphanumeric Many thanks for you advice. Having looked at schematics/images of Zero v1.3, and the Zero W, it would APPEAR that the pins are the same. With that in mind, I am pretty confident that the Zero4U SHOULD be compatible. I will purchase the relevant model Zero4U, and see if it works. If not,...

Re: Zero4U USB Board

The manufacturers seem confident that the pins for Zero v1.3, and the Zero W, are the same. They state they have no reason to believe it will not work. However, I will wait until they stat that categorically in their documentation, before purchasing one.

Thanks for the replies.

Zero4U USB Board

Hello.
Please forgive me if this has already been covered elsewhere, however, I cannot seem to find any information.
I am the proud owner of the Raspberry Pi Zero W, and, I am wondering if the Zero4U USB board, is compatible. Only having 1 USB port is a bit annoying.
Many thanks.

Eamonn
