Unfortunately, this seems to be an error in upstream Debian - the keyboard selection database is corrupt. It will presumably be fixed at some point, but it's not something we've done to it!
If I remember correctly the problem disappeared after the first apt-get upgrade.

Re: PI 3B+ WIFI not working on different AP/routers

I think we may have come to a point where I say the I do not have a clue why this is happening. I would suggest one more test if you can replace the Pi3B+ by one of the other boards. If that also does not work I think we need to try to get some attention from one of the more experienced members. FYI...

Re: PI 3B+ WIFI not working on different AP/routers

Copy direct to Boot did not really work for me. After reboot the file was moved to /etc/wpa_supplicant/ but with different permissions so my user could not open it. This is expected behaviour, after moving you can access the file with sudo. Can you put the memory card from the Pi3B into the Pi3B+ t...

Re: PI 3B+ WIFI not working on different AP/routers

Code: Select all

<3>CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED id=1 ssid="OFFICE" auth_failures=1 duration=10 reason=CONN_FAILED
Something is wrong with the passkey.

I suggest you copy the file "/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf" from the Pi3B to "/boot/wpa_supplicant.conf" on the Pi 3B+ to do another test.

I know Hackers are a real problem. But are they over emphasized. Untitled.png Since about the 1st of May there have been almost 2500 attempts to access my network with the use of ssh. Re: Cannot connect to second WiFi network

So my understanding is that something's wrong with RPI/Raspbian when two configured SSIDs have similar names, perhaps starting from the same string... Shall I report a a bug for this? I do not think that this will help, there could have been something else on the AP (**) that may have caused the pr...

Re: Cannot connect to second WiFi network

It is very difficult to find the problem, I have noticed a few things: 1) The priority in wpa_supplicant has been set to give higher priority (2) to "jameson" as to "jameson2" (1). The higher the value the higher the priority. 2) The last conf file shows "priority=1" and "id_str="mobileAP" on the sa...

Note 1: I have just update my last post to include reference to jameson2.
Note 2: If the connection to jameson2 works this time then I may have found the reason.

Re: Cannot connect to second WiFi network

To get usable information you have to remove every network (SSID) except jameson2 from wpa_supplicant.conf. Then run wpa_cli in interactive mode, do not enter any command, wait for messages to be displayed. wpa_cli -i wlan0 If nothing happens after about 3 minutes then enter the command (in wpa_cli)...

Re: Cannot connect to second WiFi network

- You are using root, why, is there a special reason ?
- why did you not use "-i wlan0" with interactive wpa_cli, in your screenshot you are using the wrong interface (p2p-dev-wlan0).

That it does not even try to connect to Jameson2 although it connects to Jameson.
I added all the required commands (add, enable, reconfigure). No luck
What happens if you remove every SSID except Jameson2 ?
What messages do you see ? Can you post these messages ?

Well, can of worms open. Something with wheels would be fine. I live in Oklahoma, US. It would most likely be outdoor use, till we get a bigger place, then it be both. Expandable would be great (sensors, camera, etc.). But really it just needs to be a great starter bot. see https://www.sunfounder.c...

Am confused by all the IP addresses, seems not consistent with a local network connection... If your win10pc's IP address is 192.168.0. 102, your RPi should be in the same range as 192.168.0. xxx. How about restarting again.... from zero start. Also please heed epoch1970's recommendation regarding ...
