Re: Jupyter notebook failed installation

In future please don't just post links to elsewhere. It's annoying to have to trundle the web to analyse your problem. Both listings are very short and could easily have been posted here... It looks as if the pip3 upgrade did not work. Not surprisingly as it would need 'sudo'. Try sudo pip3 install ...

Re: How to do "Shutdown" when running OSMC

OSMC has a Power menu entry. One of the options should be shutdown (or something like that).
IIRC the screen blanks when the system is powered down

Re: SSH daily file creation...How do I do it?

Well I did it again...I ran "sudo apt-get update" again on a headless 3B+ ....Damn me! After 30 minutes of climbing in a wiring closet I removed and replaced the SD card adding the ssh file. I have never had to re-enable ssh after an update... If you're running one of the RPF Raspbian images there ...

That's package with mods made by Raspberry Pi Trading.

The only one think I don't like it's at every boot it takes different MAC address, so my router is giving it every time a different IP.... I know there is a way to fix MAC address in some configuration file. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=209309#p1452371 is what I use to ge...

Re: How to bypass the crypto chip in my raspberry pi camera (v2)

I was talking about the Raspberry Pi Foundation itself, and how despite relying on the massive amount of work that went into the free and open source GNU/Linux OSes its products effectively require, it's actually going against that ideology and deliberately restricting user choice in the name of pr...

Re: Pi 3 B+ eth0 MAC Address Change Fails

I just ran into this issue myself today. I wish I had a solution for you, but I CAN confirm that it seems to be a 3B vs 3B+ difference. We are using a systemd script to change the OUI via "ip link set" prior to dhcpcd.service. The disk works fine in a 3B, but on 3B+ the network doesn't seem to work...

Re: How disable system time update?

Stretch does not use ntp. Sync is organised by the systemd-timesyncd service.
To disable it use

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl stop systemd-timesyncd
sudo systemctl disable systemd-timesyncd

I have tried gTTS but as B.Goode told in another post, this module does not work in python3.
Which post is that? According to https://pypi.org/project/gTTS/ it should work in python 3.
You do need to install it specifically for Python 3. Use pip3 instead of pip.

Any advice to how to achieve my goal will be happily received. Thanks alot. Yes: do nothing... DHCP is the default. You can check with 'dmesg' how the IP address is obtained. You're getting an APIPA address (see e.g. https://wiki.wireshark.org/APIPA) which can have several causes: * no network conn...

As long as you have the dtoverlay in config.txt
You don't need an overlay for the 'GPIO start' function. You're probably confusing it with the gpio shutdown function

I would also look to turn on I2C using

sudo raspi-config
That should be 1-wire, not i2c

And the modprobes should definitely be removed from the code

Instead of holding down the SHIFT key, power up the Pi and hit SHIFT repeatedly until the NOOBS window opens. The boot sequence is looking for the actual keystroke.

The raspberry Pi isn't designed to operate from batteries. It may not operate (properly) at all.
