Re: How do I calculate audio dB/SPL level?

Any suitable tool, such as Audacity, can tell you the electrical signal amplitude but unless you have some calibration data for the microphone and A to D conversion it is impossible to calculate the SPL. Audacity is fine but it does not give me the precise amplitude value. Can anyone provide me any...

Plotting Frequency Response of Audio File in Python

Hi all.

I have been working on plotting the frequency response of an audio file using python but what I had gotten so far are quite different from what I wanted. Does anyone has an existing code for this? I am looking to plot the amplitude (Sound Level) against frequency.

How do I calculate audio dB/SPL level?

I want to calculate the SPL of an audio file that had been recorded and processed by my raspberry pi + cirrus logic audio card. Is there anyway to go about doing this, preferably via python? I don't really know how to continue, as I had finished processing the audio file, but now I need to determine...

How do I divide an audio file into 1/3 octave bands?

Hello all. I need some advice on how should I go about dividing an audio file into 1/3 octave bands? Currently what I am thinking of is to pass through the audio file through 32 separate firwin filters, which will definitely take a very long time to be processed. Is there a more efficient/faster met...

Advice on more efficient manner to code this?

Hi all. As i am rather new to programming language so am not really good at developing efficient python codes. Can anyone offer an advice on how could I count the following more efficiently? (I am trying to split an audio into various frequency bands and I want to calculate the average amplitude of ...

Have you programmed for python2 or python3. I see it's using python2.
Each part does work when run separately. I am programming it for python2, does it not work on python2?
