my industrial robotic arm

Hi, i'm still developing my robotic arm but instead of wooden arm now made from alu. You can see it under this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW0IslMvxqQ . I use RPi as a main controller and it has some additional functions like HMI, sensor collector. RPi is connected via i2c interface with f...

Re: STICKY: Introduce yourself!

Hi My name is Martin and i'm from Poland. Currently, I am involved in industrial automation and programming - I use Object Pascal (i.e. Delphi, Lazarus, Micropascal), Bascom and etc. I like interesting project and most of them are related to productions machines. In such projects I also use industri...

Re: My own robotic arm-some progress

Next step: https://youtu.be/wCBY1a52TEk There I haven't done learning algorithm still but it is in some progress. I'm strongly thinking about using rs485 instead of i2c as a connection between RPi and atmegas. It works but.... sometime i have some issues with ic2, while in rs232 or 485 never. The bo...

My own robotic arm-some progress

Hi, this thread is for those who are interested in such subjects from the edges ;) so this is my latest project (not completed, long way ahead). In this project few (will be five) atmega8s, programmed in Bascom are to controll servomotors reading encoders, generating step/dir, checking ranges for se...

Re: Real Time ISR with Quadrature Encoder

meantime I decided to write for the moment a simple program for AVR to generate pulses for stepper and read an encoder connected to the same AVR. One AVR for one stepper. All of them connected to RPi and with i2c send and read parameters.

Re: Real Time ISR with Quadrature Encoder

Thank for your answer. Question before a try: I have few encoders and all have to be read simultaneously. Did you do a test with more than one?

Re: Real Time ISR with Quadrature Encoder

Hello, maybe a bit old subject but I encountered similar problem.I have a 4 quadrature incremental encoders with 200 cpr each connected with stepper motors. When I do a full cycle with a steppers (velocity ~5 rotations/1 sec) instead of having 200 cycles per rotation I got ca. 180 or so but never 20...
