Re: Best way to run a python script at startup?

Hi all I'd been editing .config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart to get the auto start up privilege it works pretty fine. But once I'd have include serial communication (pyserial) into the script and it had failed with Errno 13 Permission denied. The serial port used in this script is /dev/ttyS0 Any idea...

Re: Running a Python Script AFTER X GUI Starts up?

I know today is 2017.. Still, same question as title. My situation is a bit different as I would required a serial communication established along the python script, and this python script contains PyQt5 functions. Basically I tried to design an GUI application that get update thru serial , and it n...

Compute Module 3 not detected for re-flashing

I'd been doing "re-formating" for my Compute Module 3 (with eMMC), I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3 B to perform the format according to the Official website Documentation.

But the

Code: Select all

sudo ./rpiboot
stops at Waiting for BCM2835/6/7 like forever

Any idea to perform a hardware reset?

Raspbian autostarting a PyQT5 UI that has Serial communication

I'd designed a python software that required to start right after boot into system. I'd use sudo nano /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart and appended this line @python3 /home/pi/X/exe.py as the last line of file. Before I'd include pyserial communication into the apps, everything works fin...

How raspbian know it's been installed in a Pi or Compute Module?

I want to design a python script that would allows me to check whether it's currently in a standard Pi 3 or it's in a Compute Module 3. But I have not idea even on how raspbian OS know itself is currently in a Pi 3 or a CM3.

Any help?

How to know what is the service launched on raspbian startup?

Yes, https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/71083/how-to-know-what-is-the-service-launched-on-raspbian-startup is my post too I want to achieve instant startup, roughly 1 sec, by disabling unwanted startup services in my pi. During the boot up, the cmd shows things like CUPS printing servic...

Re: Opinion: Power supply.

From https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /README.md
The capability to supply sufficient ampere is the one that actually matters while selecting a power supply.

As a personal recommendation, please try the official power supply.

Disable completely boot up screen

Hi Recently I'm trying to play around with the Raspbian boot up sequence, and I personally wanted to achieve a completely silent boot where there will be no PIXEL nor command line boot interface, dont want to see any debug messages; basically, totally blank. I wanted to make it to be blank/black com...

Re: CM3 Boot from microSD and Save into eMMC

Hey, man.

I'd read through the schematic, and sadly, you're right.

I cant have microSD and eMMC at the same time, have to figure out some other way to make it

µSD is only available on the CM3-lite.

Re: CM3 Boot from microSD and Save into eMMC

Hi, Thanks for the reply. So, it seems currently my option available ss either eMMC or microSD. Then save in USB drives Still couldnt fine a way to boot to microSD while eMMC is onboard I think you can have only eMMC or microSD at a time. But then you can use a usb drive. Need suggestion regarding raspbian webcam library

I'm having a project that required access to webcam for extremely fast still image capture. I'd had tested my project with the official release camera module but the result is incapable to fulfill the requirement, which is less than 0.001s per image in VGA resolution. Any suggestion on the webcam or...

Re: CM3 Boot from microSD and Save into eMMC

To the best of my knowledge, that is not possible. It's an "either/or" deal. If the CM has eMMC, then it boots from that. If it doesn't, it boots from the SD card. However, there is a third alternative. If you set the "boot over USB" OTP bit on, then a CM3L or CM3 could boot from an attached USB de...

CM3 Boot from microSD and Save into eMMC

Hi, I would like to know is there possibility for me to use microSD card to boot up Raspbian OS for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3, and utilize the onboard eMMC chip as slave storage device to store data at the same time. This is to ensure even the microSD card is removed/stolen/lost, data within...

Regarding Touchscreen

Hi guys, new user's here. I'd planning to get myself a 4.3" touchscreen for my Pi 3 The 7" official screen is good but not suitable for my project. So I'd went through some studies, and it brought me a lot of confusion In simple said, I'd planned to connect the potential screen to Pi 3 via SPI. What...
