Unfortunately as you may have already found, this is something most people give up on. It isn't impossible but the easiest way would be to buy lvds-hdmi logic board. Search it on eBay but you have to provide the specific part number of the screen you will be using. Or buy a pitft

Yeah thanks. Sorry for the late reply, been busy. Anyway I ended up opting out of the hdds and just going with a USB stick. Also the screen is still giving me trouble. Will continue research and testing...Til then it's on my TV with no touch input :(

It might be possible to use a single power source for the screen and Pi but it will likely be far more effort than separate supplies. I did a similar project recently and the screen needed a 12v supply while the Pi needs a 5v supply. It is much simpler to use batteries with the corresponding voltag...

sorry if posting in the wrong area okay so im trying to build a portable rig for retropie I realize this is going to be difficult since I do not know much about the electrical hardware side of things but here is my plan: 20" lvds lcd from asus eeetop et2010pnt with touch screen digitizer 1280x800 32...

id really like to play gta3 or networking halo with a few pi's and beers.....but im guessing halo is way too complex to even begin to port to pi Halo is way too complex and requires way too much of the RPi.
