Re: Raspberry Pi B+ schematic

From some pictures it looks like the JTAG interface is brought out to an 8-signal connector J5 on the back of the pi. From the footprint, the connector looks mechanically similar to an HDMI or Mini USB socket. So I was wondering: - What kind of socket is this? - Is there any use for the JTAG interfa...

The itdb24 device worked straight away. Thank you very much!

Now I can start prototyping some ideas I have for the compute module.

fbtft: custom device questions

I want to use some cheap 2.4 TFTs from ebay with my pi. The boards are very similar to this one . I have a working initialization on an ARM Cortex Microcontroller, so I know that they work, and I have the correct init sequence. As far as I can tell fbtft already supports the S6D1121 controller, but ...

Re: GPIO pinouts confirmed

Thank you for the pinout liz, there goes my productivity for the day ;)
Just to add to all the other questions:
Can we use the 5V pin to power the r-pi or are there diodes or something similiar that would prevent that?

Re: Finalised PCB design now on the front page

I agree with johnbeetem, i\'m pretty sure that the blue text is on the bottom of the board and therefore it is shown reversed when looking from the top. I guess the top silkscreen is not shown, because it would hide to many of the traces.

<r>From what i remember back when i was coding for iPod linux, counting cycles on the ARM 7 CPU was a lot more complicated than a simple "1 instruction = 1 memory cycle", you had something along the lines of "this specific instruction = 2 clock cycles, 1 prefetch cycle + 2-4 memory cycles".<br/> I j...

Re: Finalised PCB design now on the front page

I was just trying to prepare a r-pi part in eagle and a question occured to me:
53.98 is a very odd measurement, are the dimensions actually 85.60mm x 53.98mm or are they 3370 mil x 2125 mil?

Re: Finalised PCB design now on the front page

I think you mislabeled the DSI.

I would guess, that the DSI connector is in the same area as the SD Card, just on the other side. (SD Card back, CSI front) What you have as DSI i would guess is GPIO and your GPIO i would say is JTAG and debug.

Would it make sense for me to look at the code more closely to find a fix, or is the change in forum software already decided? I wouldn't mind spending a couple of hours looking for a fix, if the fourm doesn't change in the next couple of weeeks.

John Carmack, Linus Torvalds, Donald Knuth might also be good choices, but for me Woz just fits very well to the intention and spirit of the r-pi.
