USB DVD Drive with XBMC-Based distro?

Hey all. I've recently bought a cheap, 2x USB powered DVD drive that I was hoping to use in combination with a powered hub on my Pi. It works fine on my Windows 7 and shows up as a standard DVD drive, however I've heard that XBMC for Raspberry Pi has optical drives disabled as default, as is hard to...

Re: Can someone upload their /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist for me

Sorry, I must be doing something wrong because whenever I run it no mirrorlist is extracted that I can find. Where would it extract to by default? It's not in my home directory, nor the same directory it is downloaded to.

I tried that, but my mirrorlist is still the same. Did I do something wrong? I did that command letter for letter.

Can someone upload their /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist for me?

I kinda messed with it by trying to update the mirrors and now anything I try to install with Pacman 404s. Thanks in advance!

I'm on Arch Linux. The nameservers are stored in /etc/resolv.conf I thought? So that wouldn't work?

Just tried that, sadly it still does nothing. Also worth noting that I forgot to include is I have the "network" daemon added. My IP is still dynamic, though.

Arch Linux Static IP issues

Hi all. I have just installed Arch to my Pi's SD, and have been configuring it. I have network working through automatic assignment, but I want to give my Pi a static IP address so it's easier to ssh into and such. I've edited my /etc/rc.conf to look like this: interface="eth0" address="192.168.0.10...

Re: Any working Dreamcast emulators

That's like saying "If a Ferrarri can do 120 miles per hour, so can my Ford Focus!". Different processors work in different ways, I believe the PSP Processor was more similar to the Dreamcast Processor, which made emulation easier.

PHP GD problems - Can't solve

Hello all. I have GD installed on my Debian server (sudo apt-get install php5-gd) and it loads images fine, but whenever I try to use a ttf on it, the text doesn't show at all. Can someone offer me some help? array ( 'GD Version' => '2.0', 'FreeType Support' => true, 'FreeType Linkage' => 'with free...

Re: hosting a website on a raspberry pi ?

I'm gonna pitch in and say that I have one running on my Pi at http://bakaosaka.no-ip.org/ (Usually only during daytime though) and it has PHP added. Because of this, I added a neat little server info page!

Re: NES Operating System

It's possible, though I suggest you learn to do it yourself. The easiest option would be to find an NES emulator that supports this and then make it run at startup, as well as enable r/w on framebuffer, if required, and enable sound.

Re: Compiled NeoGeo Emulator Download

Sadly I haven't yet, audio works fine in other applications such as omxplayer/FCEU so I guess it's just the emulator, but I've tried redownloading it to a different location and it still does it. Nothing in the config reflects any change either.

Re: Custome image build

You could just use Debian, but make it run an application at startup that executes the emulator/game you want. This is a sample script I wrote in C that works well, though I imagine you could do much better with Python, something I don't know much about yet. //Sample C loader application #include <s...

Hey there, I managed to get the emulator to run fine, with audio through HDMI as well. However I tried runinng it with aoss sound, and ever since doing that I can get no audio output from gngeo at all. Do you know how I may be able to fix this?

Thanks!

Re: Game recorder?

I have a device known as an "Easycap", it takes standard RCA/S-Video input and displays it as a stream. It works with Linux, though I've yet to test it on the Pi. If you want, I can and report back for you, though I assume you'd rather use HD input?
