Re: 3b+ Stuttering RetroPie (SNES/N64)

It could be from the use of an awful SD card. What card are you using (since you didn't list it)?

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12.1 on Raspberry Pi 3

I did everything correctly for version 1.12.1, but when I put in ./runOptifine1_12_1.sh, the game just crashes. Please help! You say that, but the process still works for me (just did it again on another PI about a week ago). Show us the error you're seeing after the crash and we'll be able to help...

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12.1 on Raspberry Pi 3

Small update, I changed from using FakeKMS to FullKMS and the flickering is gone. I had always used FakeKMS because it just seemed to work better for me for most things, but now I'm really liking how FullKMS is working for me. It had been a while since I tried it so updates and fixes may have been a...

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12.1 on Raspberry Pi 3

Yes, using f11 makes it flicker for some reason. To prevent this I just use full screen from the minecraft application bar. It's freakin' irritating. I'm using the script to start Minecraft outside of the GUI to squeeze a bit more performance out of it, so non-full-screen is not really an option in...

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12.1 on Raspberry Pi 3

Anyone else seeing lots of flickering while playing now (in the ESC menu, or inventory)? It's been happening for a few months with newer images/updates. It happens more severely at higher resolutions or with higher view distance so I imagine it has to do with the Ram utilization, but I have the GPU ...

Re: openjk/jedi academy on raspbian stretch pi2

Just tried this out, works beautifully. Strangely enough, I found it's more stable using *less* vram. I'm floating at 128mb assigned to GPU with resolution at 640x480 and textures and polys set to medium and it's running pretty great at ~35 FPS or higher in Single Player. I can't wait to play more a...

I created a new run script :

Code: Select all

cd ~/Minecraft/ && wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/trsel8nhan34b8q/runOptifine1_12_2.sh && sudo chmod +x runOptifine1_12_2.sh
What did you change?

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12.1 on Raspberry Pi 3

I'll check temperature, but I wouldn't expect that to be an issue - I'll report back. Pi3 in a case, no h/s or fan, new class 10 card for the installation. Definitely get a heatsink. You'll want one as a bare minimum since these things run really hot under full load. The Pi3 starts throttling at 80...

I think I've spotted the problem - your missing the capital F !

Code: Select all

java -jar OptiFine_1.12_HD_U_C3.jar
Ha, that was a painful lesson. Using Autofill [Tab] after using partial file/directory names in the terminal is a good way to avoid this in the future.

Why don't you just... play it on your PC?

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.8.9 on RaspPi2

Not that I'm aware. Minecraft uses java in conjunction with some sort of graphical interface (in this case, I think it's Xwindows), and since RetroPie applications do not use a GUI, it cannot function.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

For those interested, I have my minecraft config files pasted below if anyone wants to replicate my settings. Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.12 on Raspberry Pi 3

Looking at the sky doesn't count. ;) Usually I judge real world FPS while looking some animated textures and transparencies (like looking at a river with lots of tall grass around) while holding the jump key, and am seeing around 40-55 FPS. It's definitely not bad at all. EDIT: Also, I only play on ...

Just went through the whole install process again on my Rpi3 and skipped the ASM part (step 12) and it worked without a hitch. Just went through the steps on my Rpi2, worked like a champ. Thanks for the work on this, I was contemplating doing an updated guide like this myself for 1.12, just never found the time. However, I would recommend fleshing out step 14 a bit more, as there is no mention on where to get the client to...

So far, so good. I really appreciate the helpfulness and the common effort. So far I can use run2.sh to get on the network, and runOptifine.sh to run 1.11.2. However, so far no luck combining the two. Has anyone got 1.11.2 successfully joining a server? I have had my PI join games on the network ba...

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.8.9 on RaspPi2

On RaspPi 3b, the OpenGL drivers say something like Full, Fake, and Disabled. When either of the top two are enabled, many other things don't work.
