own system text in raspivid

What i want is to get raspivid to show the system temperature and other information, updated while running raspivid, like a "teminator" view.
I know it's possible, and i'm "hacking" the code, but it would go much faster if someone could lead the way.

Anyone out there?

But not at a steady 5V.

You either have a weedy supply, a weedy cable between the supply and the RPi or too many power hungry things plugged into USB ports.
Ok, i'll check it out

Re: extreme cooling

Now....if you want to try extreme low temperature operation, you might want to look at some of the extreme overclocking efforts done with PCs using such materials as dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) or liquid Nitrogen. Note that this is not a recommended action with a Pi, nor is there any guarantee--...

Hello, has anyone tried hfc 134a refrigerant to cool your rpi?
I only tried a drop or two on a rpi3 with a heat sink and it dropped 10 degrees celsius.

Has anyone out there tried to "freeze" your rpi, how did it go, what happend?

Re: Raspberrypi 0

Since some of you think i'm wasting your time, this thread is not about rpi0, but running a rpi0 off a powerbank power supply source. By comparison, running an idle rpi3 at 2,5 watts (mesured with an 220volts outlet mesuring thing) it may not be as accurate as you want it to be, but mesuring with th...

And a 12v75A car battery would run an idle rpi3 for two weeks, at 2,5 watts.

Re: Raspberrypi 0

I bought a powerbank from http://www.clasohlson.com 5v/1A in and out Capacity 9.62Wh (~2A) There's a little button to push to turn it on, when it was almost empty i charged it and at the same time it powered a pi1b+ with LCD-PI32. The charger wasn't enough for that little project though, it mostly p...

First off, I've search and didn't find. Now... i've got two kids 3+5 and 3 wanna watch Tom & Jerry and/or Donald Duck, 5 wanna watch two other. 2 omxplayers works fine but four doesn't? At one time it seamed like mp4+avi worked better than mp4+mp4 or avi+avi... But the real question is, does omxplay...

Re: gpio buttons

put a pullup or pulldown resistor into the switch circuit to keep it high or low when switch is not pressed, or a small capacitor to debounce the switch or - not sure of programming, but could it launch 'thingy' and then wait for the GPIO to change state again before continuing - ie, push switch GP...

Re: rpi3 usb

Not aiming for serving files at high speed, all i wanted to know was what i now know, aka, there's no point spending money on fast drives, wired ethernet is a fifth of the total bandwidth.
So usb sticks instead of hard mirror raid mSata usb thingy.
Thank you everyone

rpi3 usb

Are the four usb ports on the raspberry pi 3 individual or are they a hub giving a total of the maximum bits per second for usb 2.0.

What should i aim for:
a mirror raid with two mSATA inside a external usb hdd drive case
or
four usb sticks.
