HOWTO: stream raspberry pi camera video output to another computer using raspivid, netcat, and vlc

so here is a simple formula for forwarding a video stream from the pi camera to another computer with relatively low latency (around half a second latency on a pi zero w) I tried another method that only involved vlc but not netcat and the latency for that was >2 seconds.... on viewing side... netca...

Re: The things I've gotten to work on my PI 4 :)

What did you do to get Netflix working? there are some blog posts that outline the process in detail, but the long and short is that you grab the widevine library from a chromos image copy it into /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libwidevinecdm.so then go get a plugin that allows you to change the user-ag...

Re: compute module. What is the latest ones specs

You've got a larger problem if you are counting on running android on pi hardware. There are some neat demos out there, so there are people working on it, (not sure what the very latest state of the art is), but bottom line, that's cutting edge stuff and I doubt it's ready for prime time yet.

Re: looking for a Pi developer

I didn't quite catch what you are after, you want to use the pi to serve audio out to the world, or you want to use the pi to consume the audio, or you want to use the pi to consume the audio and (for lack of a better word) re-serve or proxy it back out to the world at large?

Re: One trick to improving the pi's ability to surf the web

quote of original post below. I've tried the only open a few tabs thing, it's tiresome, and I like the freedom of opening as many as I like. I would like to point out that the advise you give about tuning down the swapiness is exactly the opposite advice I'm giving. My experience so far with running...

Re: OpenGL Driver screen issues

Well, just to say it, I appreciate everything the foundation is doing. Great work guys, please keep it up. I'm sure you guys will work out the kinks with the gl driver, I think it will be a great thing for the community when it's ready. Thanks for the suggestion about the splash screen, I will give ...

Re: OpenGL Driver screen issues

I'm having a similar issue, the experimental gl driver used to work great for me, when I updated to the latest raspbian with pixel any time I enable the driver the pi get's to the first few lines of the boot screen and then refuses to boot. I've also tried with a fresh image, same problem. Good luck...

Experimental GL driver not working w new vers of raspbian

Has anyone noticed that the experimental gl driver no longers works with the latest version of raspbian. Whenever you enable the setting the pi 3 just hangs on boot, I've tried flashing a new card from scratch and upgrading an older version to the most recent, both exhibit the same issue. This is di...
