Re: Dragging my school into the 21st century.

Just got another class room lab funded in my school. We are now up to 9 fully funded R-pi computer centers, all which are made up of at least 4 R-pi computers.

We are now over 34R-pi computers total!!!

I highly recommend trying to copy theses project in your own school. Here is a link to my DC teachers pa...

Re: Dragging my school into the 21st century.

Not that the HHS IT issues aren't interesting, but here is a list of links to my already funded Donors Choose (DC) computer lab projects. I'm up to just under $5,000 in funding just on my DC account and I have had supportive colleagues do the same. I'm not going to post to live funding campaigns her...

Re: Dragging my school into the 21st century.

I should a elaborate a bit more, but first things first, my above mention project got funded in less than 24 hours. The laptops running Windows XP were not connected to the Internet. They were only used to run games installed from CD-ROMs. After I migrated them to Lubuntu, they were a loud back on t...

Dragging my school into the 21st century.

While in a meeting with a colleague, I was surprised to discover five 2000's era Dell PC's running windows XP. After a brief discussion on what she is using the computers for and what she would like to use them for, we migrated all 3 to much nicer, safer, modern, and faster Lubuntu Linux. About a we...

Re: Edu. browser games needed for offline server's in Burma

Thanks, This was all very helpful. I particularly loved the PhET interactive simulations. I used to use taxman in my class room and all my kids loved it to the point where it became a station during choice time. If there is any browser-based math games that play like older arcade games, easy to play...

Edu. browser games needed for offline server's in Burma

Hello, I'm doing research on browser based education games for a local NGO called MyMe here in Myanmar. The goal is to host educational resources and games on R-pi offline servers pared with captive wifi hotspots. See mymebox.org for a sample of what it looks like on the R-pi (Please note that this ...

pi music box and building a AM transmitter

So my uncle restores vacuum tube AM radios and I want to build him a Pi music box paired with an AM transmitter. The Pi music box stuff looks simple enough but I have no idea which way to go on a AM transmitter. It would only need to cover his small recreation room but I would like it to be clear as...
