Re: RPI cooling while sealed in a plastic case...

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have been looking for an excuse to get a Pi Zero but not sure why it would be better able to handle the heat. Can you elaborate?

Using earth to help regulate the temperature is interesting, but since the greenhouse has a concrete floor, it would be difficult to do.

RPI cooling while sealed in a plastic case...

I am looking for ideas/suggestions. Note: I have been searching around the forum for ideas and while there are plenty of discussions on cooling, I could find none that were very relevant to my question. I will apologize in advance if I missed finding where this has already been discussed. I have bui...

Re: Making readable modifyable code.

(The fiftieth percentile is called the median.) Thankyou! Lets just call our variable "median" - I like that. I would agree, and in many cases "median" would make for more readable code. So maybe that was not the best example. In the particular (R) code I pulled that from, it is using various perce...

Re: Making readable modifyable code.

I am constantly amazed at how many ‘rabbit holes’ some postings go down (which can be really fun) and how often they involve attacks on OP or other posters (which is not fun)…sigh… I would say there are lots of really good ideas and suggestions here and while I may not agree with all of them and/or ...

Re: Reset 1-wire Bus - DS18B20

Thanks for the post. I am running into the same problem and find your solution really interesting. Right now I have mine set up to reboot when it detects it can no longer ‘see’ a sensor as a temporary solution. I am considering using your solution, but it will require some mods to my setup (my senso...

Raspberry Pi R project advice

I have automated the heat/cooling/irrigation in a small greenhouse using a raspberry Pi. I am currently learning R for work and have been thinking about applying R to my greenhouse project, but could use some advice. It would seem that R might be a good way to analyze/display (HTML) graphs and data ...
