How to edit and run Python 2.7 code in latest 'stretch'

Hi All, I've just set up a new SD card with the latest updated and upgraded version of 'stretch'. Sadly there is no sign of the Python 2 idle environment. Command line says the python version is 2.7.13, and the libs are still there for python 2.6 and 2.7, but the programming drop down only offers Id...

How to display python program output on HDMI

I am wanting to display the output of my python code on the HDMI display. I have searched the forums but have come up blank. Effectively what I am after is a program which sets up a single colour background with some text boxes which display the output of my code. In a perfect world it would be good...

Find and save public ip for SSH or XRDP

Hi All, I'm trying to set up my pi for remote access. I've sorted out the port forwarding on the modem but need the public ip to access. Given that telstra extranet changes the public ip for the modem at it's whim, I am trying to write some code to discover the public ip of the modem, save it, and t...

Pi3 Bluetooth no sdptool response

I've been battling with a Bluetooth serial connection from a rfid reader and following posts on the topic. Given that these issues have been featuring since 2014 I am getting confused about how to resolve the issue with a pi3 running Jessie (with Pixel) from 11 Jan 2017. My main issue is the virtual...

Re: Where do I download wheezy?

My reason for using Wheezy is that Jessie absolutely hates WiFi dongles. Systems that continuously sent data for months using Wheezy fell over as soon as I ?upgraded to Jessie. Formally reliable WiFi dongles would not connect at all with Jessie. I'm not a Linux whiz and so can't deal with new proble...

Re: File transfer from raspberry pi to windows pc using UART

Why not use the network? We do live in the 21st century now. Seriously, it would be helpful to know why the OP wants to do this route. Perhaps he doesn't know that you can do it with a simple network cable - you don't need either a router or the Internet to do this. I'm interested in this thread be...

Re: ADS1015 4 ch continuous sampling

Thanks Gerhard for your reply. I agree that the sample rate may be affected, but there is no reason that each of the inputs can't be sampled in a loop and be repeated. With other ADC's of similar type, setting this loop up programatically costs sample time because the single sample mode has greater ...

ADS1015 4 ch continuous sampling

Hi,
I've got the ADS1015 running well on Pi 3B for continuous single channel, and single shot multichannel, but can't find a clue on how to perform continuous sampling on all 4 channels at once. I would appreciate any clues or resources to make this happen.
Cheers
